Ruud unit will not cool below 81

If the suction line is sweating and your air coming out of the registers is around 50deg. and you have condensate dripping from the indoor unit, then the unit is undersized.

If you dont feel any hot air coming out the top of the
outdoor unit, then either the compressor is not operating or you are low on refrigerant

Does the exhaust go above or below the air intake?

above....hot air rises and will stay away from fresh air intake. If it were below it would short cycle through unit

I can't seem to get the A/C to work. I'm thinking of getting a hose as a last resort. It seems to alternate blowing cool air, then hot air after a few minutes. There's also a tendency for the a/c to...

The symtoms you describe appear to indicate that the AC might be low on the freon charge. Usually blowing cold and then hot is the first sign that the unit is low on refridgerant and is working hard to keep cooling.

Further, the tripping of the breakers/electric power also indicates that the unit is working hard to cool and as a result is running hot and is causing the power to trip off. If you can get a AC tech to recharge the unit, you should be all set.

Here's a link to a site with the owners manual and a troubleshooting guide for your unit. You can access it for free.

Danby DAC5020 Air Conditioner fan works but not compressor

It could be as simple as being low on refrigerant. Depends on how expensive the unit is if its worth recharging and how big the unit is. Some small units will need to have a recharge point fitted which cost more of course.

Compressor runs and gets hot but does not cool unit

This product has been discontinued
i dont think many danby units are parts supported
more likely generic after market parts fitted by air con mechanics do the job
relay first might be a thematic one and an compressor motor fan relay
then check gas pressure

Danby propane refrigerator won't work. I've tried "burping" it for almost a year now with no success. Any suggestions? Is there a Danby service store in the southern or mid-Utah area or Grand...

Check if the orifice is clean.  If not, dissassemble, soak it in solvent and blow with pressurized air.  Do not put wire through the orifice as it will surely change the size and wreck the said part.

Danby DPAC10061 portable air conditioner problem

you may have a factory defective unit that is not turning off the anti-frost heating coil (I have assumed yours contains this item based on your problem description). I would trade it in for a new unit, again assuming you have a warranty or the store offers a good in-store return policy. If this plan bombs, then open the unit and find the heating coil near the cool side of the radiator fins. then disconnect the power wires to the heater and prevent electrical short to wires with quality electrical tape.
