To get out of hibernation on all computers with Windows....you simply have to push the power button once and the system is supposed to come out of it. If it does not, power the laptop off, remove the ac adapter power and then remove the battery. Push the power button to bleed any residual power in the capacitors. Plug in the AC adapter and power the laptop back up. It it boots, go ahead and replace the battery. You then may have an issue with hibernation on that particular computer. My advice is to go to the control panel > power options > hibernation tab and uncheck usinf hibernation. Most modern computers do not need this if they are sleeping or if you just want to shut the system down. There have been more bad registry problems with hibernation than any other thing.

  • Hi, in most [Hibernated States], pressing the "Power Button" (1) time, will bring the Computer out of the "Sleep." To ["Disable"], the Hibernation, or if you choose not to use it at all! Click on the "Start Button, in the [Start Search ] window" type: power. In the next window "Power Options," you can choose from the different categories in the (left pane), how and what your preference is, to controlling the way, and when the Computer "Sleeps..." Thanks for using Fix'Ya, and if you get a chance, let me know how things worked out for you."

SOURCE: My Toshiba satellite L20 laptop has gone into hibernation mode and I cannot swit

Try reseating the battery(Basically try taking out the battery for 10 secs then putting the battery in). The battery is located probably behind and under the laptop!! If that does not help, there could be something worse wrong with your laptop. When you plug it in does the indicator show that its plugged in? regards, babb

How to turn on toshiba satellite M300 laptop from hibernating mode

hi shirleygty, is that automatic hibernation (the computer hibernates by itself) or manual hibernation (by pressing the hibernate button)? If either applies to your case you might need to update the BIOS information for your computer to fix the power management issues on it. You can get it here. Just run the file, click install & choose Install From Windows. Make sure you don't have any BIOS password or any external devices connected to the computer. When the update completed successfully, your computer will automatically restart, then try hibernating this time (manual or automatic). I do recommend setting the hibernation to 1min. at the control panel > power options > change when to turn off the display. When it hibernates, pressing any keys or the power button should wake up the computer.

Hope this helps.
