Hi this one is easy for me to solve as I do this for a living and have for 33 years. You are loosing this motor, the condenser fan motor. When they start to go, this is what they do. They will start to run, or try and run but the windings are bad so they overheat very fast and stop. When thay cool some, they will try and run again. The run capacitor will also need to be replaced as they run the fan. You must replace both when changing out the motor. It would be best if you call a tech out to change out this motor and run cap, as they may have to do some wiring changes also. This happens a lot on A/c units as this motor gets alot of use in the heat and we change lots of them in the summer. It will cost around $ 140.00 to do the job. I would call around and get a estimate on doing it. It takes about 1 and 1/2 hours to do the job. I wouldnt try this on your own as you would have a hard time even finding the motor to do the job. Service vans stock them.
I wish you the best,
A/C, Heating, Contractor
Please be kind when rating me. I wish that I had better news for you but this is the only way to repair the unit.

Why does the switch on the back of the pump keep clicking?

the clicking you hear is a thing called a centrifugal switch , it engages below a certain speed to "cut in" the starting circuit , if you hear this continually click the power is shutting off or the speed of the pump is slowing down enough to engage this switch , this is not good as starting circuits are not designed to operate long , id first ck all your power connections ,might be a loose wire some place then if that's ok you can ck the speed of your pump using a strobe light (my phone has an APP for that!!) it would show your pump speed slowing down , this would need more investigation as to why this is occurring

Vent fan makes noise at end of cycle

A noise at the end of a vent cycle, as the fan is slowing down, may also be caused by the bearings on the fan shaft starting to go bad. As they get worse, you will begin to hear the oise as the fan is runing, not just as it slows. Solution: replace fan.

It is 37 degrees outside so there is the engine is definitely not running hot. However, tonight after a 15 minute drive my radiator fan kept running for about 5 minutes after shutting the car off and...

Regardless of the temprature outside , an engine can definitely overheat if the thermostat is bad , or the water pump , or the radiator. The engine temp sensor is probably malfunctioning and sending a faulty signal to the fan relay.

Taurus stalls while slowing down (low RPM)

Most likely Idle air control valve fault. Usually wont set a code unless it has a short or unplugged. There are some test that can be performed with a high end scanner but with out the data not much you can do.

Fan goes on way too often

Need to clean out your fans and cooling fins around the fan, cpu and the vents inside and outside computer. Check to make sure the fan isn't slowing down. Bad bearings in the fan will cause more friction and cause it to run slow and not cool as well.
