Question about Cameras
First of all try changing another tape.... since you say that you have already slid the tab to record but yet it still shows the same problem.... that makes me believe that the tape could be the culprit here but if you have already tried a different tape..... try putting a memory stick in and switch modes to memory card,
then in the menu you maybe able to take the camera out of the
protection mode. if the memory card mode too still gives you the same problem..... then there would be problem with the transport mechanism and it would need replacement
