Could just be a connection but 99% it is a bad LCD panel.

I have a polaroid mp3 player 4GB PMP280C-4 i madea mistake and adjusted the brightness and noe the screen completely dark. how can i get it back to normal

Ok, I had this problem & finally fixed it! Hold the power button till the word "polaroid" come across the screen, wait a few seconds to make sure its on. Push the bottom right corner of the screen, push the middle of the left hand of the screen next, go down to about the middle of the screen and start pushing towards the right. If it doesnt work right off then keep trying cause it does work!

Monitor turns on then goes dark

Either the power supply board is failing and needs repair or a bad bulb in the screen is causing it.
You would have to open it up to get a better idea.

Here's some info:
MAKE SURE ALL POWER is DISCONNECTED For at least 5 minutes PRIOR TO WORKING ON inverters.
If your picture wasn't pinkish or dark at the top or bottom when it was working, then it may be the inverter has gone bad. Inverters are like light bulbs and have life expectancies on the capacitors.
If your picture was pinkish or dark at the top or bottom when it was working then you may have 1 or more of the bulbs failing.
You can check for pinkish if your screen flashes.
What you do is when you have it open to the point of getting to the wires that hook to the back of the lcd screen is to disconnect only the wide ribbon that goes from the video board to the back of the screen. Then start it and check the screen flash color.

These come apart a little different than most. The front trim comes off with the screen. So essentially you are removing the back case first:
Once the four screws are out of the rear corners there are snap tabs that need to be released between the silver trim and the back black plastic (three top and bottom and two on left and right.)
You can use a thin knife blade to help release them as you separate the silver from the back plastic Black part has to be bent outwards to release these tabs.
Then entire guts will come out with the screen ., then the inverter is under the center area under the metal cover.
Shout if you need more info.
If you email me a good picture of the inverter in the area of the larger yellow square component and one from underneath , behind the two small yellow square components, I may be able to get a better idea if it is the inverter from a visual.

Screen is dark at start up

If its running on batteries the screen brightness will dim quite a bit. If on AC adapter it should be full brightness, but this is adjustable in either case. With the computer up and running, press and hold down the Fn key and push the up arrow to make it brighter and the down arrow to make it dimer.

Pip only on screen

Try hard reset first==Unplug ac cord overnight, then try again.Possible signal board trouble-- Practice visual acuity technique==look for CRT coolant leak on circuit board. Also suspect PIP PCB==can be by-passed by a knowledgible tech.

acer aspire 5335-2257 replaced 4 pin power jack intermittent power, only runs with battery but barely charges. acer aspire 5335-2238. My son's friend recently asked me to take a look at his laptop because he couldn't get it to take a charge or run without the battery when plugged in. Right away I noticed the dc jack was charred and the plastic around it melted. He said the power cord "brick" got really hot, all the way to the tip where it plugs into the laptop. I know the bricks can get warm but he said it actually burned his sister. I ended up replacing the dc jack and 4 pin harness with a new one and figured this would solve the power issue. It won't get power with the original power cord and I also tried a few others that were similar. The only one that worked was an adaptor that I think went to a cordless phone or something like. The next problem was I had to fiddle with the dc jack to get the yellow battery light on. Still won't turn on without battery. The battery at this point is drained so I left it plugged in all day, at least 12 hours and the green light finally came on indicating a charged battery. The battery only charged about 8-9% and died fast. I tried more adaptors and got another one to light up the yellow battery light, again a small modem adaptor, not one with the brick. This time I left it over night and got about 12% charge. Both times the laptop turned on, booted up and ran until the battery died after about 5 min. I'm out of ideas aside from maybe a bios problem but I can't get it to stay on long enough to do anything about it. I don't understand why the new jack isn't working, it's a pretty simple install, no soldering. I looked real close at the board and didn't see any obvious fried chips or anything like that. Any suggestions would be great. I've had this 14 year old kid's laptop for almost 2 weeks trying to figure it out (I also replaced his keyboard, disc drive and cleaned it up) and he's calling me every day.
