Most likely it is based off of the servers time zone for facebook. If the message is also going to your e-mail you should be able to see what time it was received in your inbox and go by that time.
Thank you,

Hi Lee, One final ? If u check facebook, the time on the message sent matches my pc email time, but if u check my email, the facebook message in the email itself shows a way diff time versus the email time from my server right above the message. And, the facebook message time in my email doesn't even match the time faceboot itself says or the time zone the sender is in. Thus, i think his pc time is wrong. thanks so much

When you are logged into facebook it uses your ip to tell you the time, so it could still be their server side issue that is giving you this "wrong time" If you get the notification in your e-mail then your e-mail provider will have a time stamp of what day and time you received the message and you can go off of that.
    Thank you,
    Lee

Hello,

Facebook messages are sent based on senders time zone. There is certainly going to be difference in the timing as a result of this.

Take care.

Sorry, But what if sender is in Fla but his PC time is accidentally still on Cal time. Wont it show based on PC time. How could it know what time zone they're in. For example, facebook message sent by Fla friend, but facebook time way different. Couldn't his PC time be wrong?

    Hello,

it all depends on the time setting on his computer. There is an option on the time settings where you will be asked to synchronize your PC time with the internet. In this case the PC time will be exactly the same with internet timing. But if its not sync, the PC time will differ from internet time. So it all depens on the time system time settings.

I just did an experiment now and I discovered that my face-book time is exactly the same with my PC time. So it is possible that his PC time is wrong. His PC time is the cause of the indifference in time. I hope you understand this now.

    Take care.

How do you delete facebook messages? My facebook has 300 comments.

1.
Log in to the Facebook website (see the "Resources" section) with your registered email address and password.

2.
Select "Inbox" from the navigation menu. Email messages received from Facebook messaging system load on the screen.

3.
Press the "Sent" link. All messages you've sent via Facebook's email system are listed.

4.
Select the messages you'd like to delete by clicking on the "X" next to each message. To select multiple messages, click on the box next to each sent message you wish to delete. To select all sent messages, press the "All" button. To deselect all messages, click the "None" button.

5.
Click on the "Delete" button from the menu bar.

Please rate me if this solution works for you

Thanks......Have a great time.

If I need to retrieve deleted messages how can I get them back?

Hi there Tam,

The only way for you to recover facebook messages is thru the notification email sent to you thru the email account that you are using to login to facebook. Whenever a message was sent to you, you receive a notification email. Notice the part of the email that says:

To reply to this message, follow the link below :

Click on that link.

After that, click on : Show Deleted Thread.

Hope this works for you.

If you accidently delete a inbox message can you get it back

In order to recover a facebook conversation:
You MUST have received an email notification from facebook, telling you that someone sent you a message. Ex. Paul Wilson sent you a message on facebook
Click on that email.. If you have already deleted the email, check your deleted messages folder (hotmail, gmail, etc.)
At the bottom of the message, you will see a link, click on the link that says :
To reply to this message, follow the link below :
ex. http://www.facebook.com/inbox.php?lh=0e5633de8d92e7fab7145ffc710260dc&
then click on : SHOW DELETED THREAD.
And you're done!
If your turned off notifications and received no email for the message, then there is no way to get it back, I'm sorry.

Facebook sent me a email saying follow link it wont let me follow link what do i do?

Amanda,

Please be absolutely certain that this email is from Facebook and that the link(s) within the email are pointed to facebook.com - otherwise this may not be a legitimate email message from Facebook (in which case you should simply delete the message).

If all is well and it looks legitimate:

If you can, copy and paste the link that they have provided into your browser. To do this, use your mouse to highlight the entire link (should read something like http://www.facebook.com/some/link.php?etc). Right-click on the highlighted link and select 'Copy' from the list. Now in the address-portion of your browser right-click and select 'Paste' from the list. Once the link has been pasted to the browser, hit 'Enter' on your keyboard.

Alternatively, if there is no link showing in the email that you've received (that is it is something that says click here or similar), you will need to view the email as plain text (not as HTML). Enabling this depends on the email client that you are using.
