I have a LP1010SNR 10K BTu. Trying to install. The width of the foam strip (for getting a seal) is much thinner than the bottom of my window sash. Do i just stick it on anyway?

Yes. As long as the seal fills the gap from sill to unit the width will be just fine.

How to you replace the freezer door seal

is it a latched door, if so weather stripping (high density foam) is a good alternative, commonly used on edges of doors, believe it or not that is a door seal just without the cover to make it more pleasing to look at, it comes in various depths, sizes and is normally two sides adhesive. if it is a magnet strip type; pick a side and use it as a strip magnet surface or cover it.

I have to replace the seal and drum supports. I have the dyer apart but the old seal was not in place. I have purchased the replacemant parts kit. It came with a foam strip, seal and lube. It looks to me...

What brand do you have?
the lube isn;t lube i think, yet a glue used to glue the seal to the drum a bead of glue downs on the lip of the drum and the seal around it. As far as the foam if i new the brand and model# i would know what that kit had in it and where it goes.

Hi, bugs are flying into our home when we put our air conditioner on fan mode. What can we do to avoid this? Thank you.

Your owners manual is here:
(slow download for a small file)

I checked to see if there was an external venting function for your unit and there was not so we can eliminate drafted external air as the source. What you will need to do is check the outer chassis to see if the foam is torn off that seals the unit off from external air. You will see a foam strip in the very top of the chassis if you slide the internal unit out. Get some single sided weather stripping and seal off the inner chassis by applying it to the the outer chassis. The from should make contact with the evaporator shroud area only ALL the way around the unit. It will be trickey to get it on properly and then slide the unit back into place but this is what you need to do in the inside of the outer chassis. Now.... on the outside of the outer chassis it must also be sealed. This is just a stretched foam strip all the way areund the outside of the outer chassis. DO NOT use adhesives. It is a stretch and stuff in place fit only. A putty knife works great for installing the outer foam as you stretch it out. If you have any gaps make sure that the gaps are not in the coreners and use another piece of foam to fill any side gaps if the foam pulls apart.

This should resolve the bugs with fan only issue.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,

How difficult / expensive is it to install a heat strip in a Dometic roof top AC? The unit I have has a mark on the knob for heat, but I suspect it was never installed.

Fairly easy. The only thing that you must figure out is how many amps the heat strips will draw. Make sure the fuses and the breaker switch can handle them. And be aware your electric bills will shoot up.

Would like to fix a new seal on a hotpoint fridge door

All depends on the model:
Look under the seal. If it is held in place by a metal strip and many screws just loosen the screws enough to slip the old one ou and the new one in. If it slips into a channel it will just pull off and the new one is pressed in. If there are no viable screws then it was foamed in at the factory and has to be carefully worked out without damaging the foam seal for thr inside door panel and a new one tucked back in.
