Hi,

if problems like this occur, the functional ic is damage. The functional ic is the ic that control the functions of the system. Once it is damage it has to be replace.

To locate the functional ic, open the player, the ic is in front of the player clip to the board of the player. unplug it and replace with a compatible one gotten from electrical store.

Thanks.

My Panasonic stereo system sa-ak17 will not come out of cd mode

I there are two possibilities. One is that the device uses a soft touch control pad that has snapped off and therefore when you press the control it fails to make contact. If it is that it can sometimes be cured by taking off the control face plate and melting the plastic back on with a soldering iron.
The other possible explanation is that the control IC has failed and needs to be replaced.

I have a Panasonic SA-AK640 mini stereo system and I'm receiving an error message ''CHGR ERR''. The disc tray will not eject. I've tried to power the stereo off and on several different times. What else...

The CD loading mechanism is out of time and has not reset correctly. This cannot be reset. The loading mechanism must be dis-asembled and rebuilt. This is not a DYI repair. Any Panasonic service center can repair this for you.

That demo mode thing is painfully annoying. With mine, I had to hold the 'display/demo' button in for about 1 second and then the words "NO DEMO" appeared. That fixed it.
