SOURCE: Emerson Air Conditioner #10HW42K through wall

First off, my model # is Emerson Quiet Kool 10HW42K. No it is not yet solved, however I am reaching out to a number of sources. Was hoping to get a simple answer since it is not a "repair" problem, but rather a "replacement problem". I am looking for another AC that will fit the original sleeve.

Our upright freezer is leaking water underneath and the temp is set on the coldest and the freezer is maining only 20 degrees. It is 14 years old and the brand is GE. Thanks

Many maybes here. Leaking water usually indicates a problem with defrost. You need to remove either the rear wall or the bottom cover inside the freezer. Most will have screws, but some will be a friction-fit. Bottom line is to look for ice, either on the rear wall or the bottom.... wherever the ice is showing. This is where you will expose the evaporator (cold radiator) and drain fitting.

Odds are that your drain is plugged and causing the evaporator to ice-over. Expose this area and look for anything (I've seen peas, price labels, corn and multiple items causing the issue) that is plugging the drain fitting. You may need to turn the unit off for a day to melt the ice in this area. If you do, remove ALL product and place towels at the bottom of the unit to absorb the water that will accumulate. Not doing the towels could damage your floor.

When the drain fitting is exposed, if there is something obstructing the opening, remove it and ensure that the line if not plugged by pouring a small amount of hot water into it. That water should end up in the catch pan below the unit.

If there is nothing plugging it, make sure that the fan is operational. If not, replace it. If fan is good, my advice is to replace the defrost heater, defrost safety control and defrost timer... all of them.

Good luck. If I had a unit as old as yours, I'd not call a tech. I'd replace the unit.

Can't find where to recharge a Fedders wall heating/airconditioner model cme015d3b

Hello, in order to rechrage the unit you must add a piercing valve to the low side of the system, most window units do not come with acess fittings. You can also add one to the high side while you are at it. Here is a link

My a110l airconditioner is turned off but it beeps 3 times every 15 to 20 seconds. How do I turn it off?

If the unit is disconnected from the power point (wall socket), then I would suggest the unit has a battery inside (eg. to maintain the time if it has a clock). Most electronic items emit a beeping sound when the battery is low. You would need to find instructions for your unit (try google), or have a good look for a small panel to open which may contain a battery (ensure the unit is unplugged before poking around).

Aircon won't start

Unplug it and open it up. You are looking for a capacitor that goes to the compressor and fan. It may be shaped like a cylinder. On one end, it may be pushed out from within. This is a blown capacitor. Replace this part and the AC should run again.

I have fixed several central air units by finding and replacing the bad capacitor.

When you open it up, also look for burn out wires.

What are the measurement on kenmore airconditioner model #580.72056

Your air conditioner will install into standard double
hung windows with actual clear opening widths of
22 to 36 inches (558mm to 914mm) (FIG. 1).
Lower sash must open sufficiently to allow a clear
vertical opening of 14 inches (356mm). Side louvers
and the rear of the air conditioner must have clear
air space to allow enough airflow through the
condenser for heat removal. The rear of the unit
must be outdoors, not inside a building or garage.

C6 error on airconditioner

6 - DC Peak Error

• Supplied power is not normal

• Comp Connector (CN-U,V,W) is disconnected or inserted to wrong

• Compressor is damaged (coil short) ? replace compressor

• Too much Refrigerant
• Defect in outdoor pcb assembly ? replace pcb assembly

Try turning power off to external unit, usually resets diagnostics and runs OK. If not PCB external unit likely culprit, replace!

Ge wall unit cools and then stops

Weather below 50 deg F can harm airconditioners if you run them. If the unit is turned off, then the weather can get as cold as it wants to and not damage the unit. Also 99.999% of the time repair costs on wall units surpass the cost of replacing the unit. This is even accounting for the fact that you will have to pay $25 to $50 to get rid of the old a/c. 5 yrs isn't that bad for a wall shaker anymore. Suggest looking for a new unit.
