Sony playstation 2 works with 8.5V DC. You need AC Adaptor and AC power cord.

Hope this helps.

My ps2 will not turn on

I have that problem with my other one. I have 2 ps2 of em. Only thing that I can say is that there may be a short in the wire. One thing I did find that works with the one I have that same problem as you do is that if I were to move the little box connected to the wire a certain way the power will come on. I've had it for many yrs. I'd try and see if maybe you uplugged the cord from the box and see if that will help or maybe if you unplugged it from the ps2 console. I'm not sure if this will help but hopefully it does.

How to connect mc2 racing wheel to ps2

The MC2 wheel should have a wire with several connectors on the end. One of the connectors should be identical to a PS2 controller connector. Use this instead of the controller.
My MC2 did not work at first. It is not the wheels fault! PS2 steering wheels are powered, a fuse often goes out in the PS2. Regular controllers will work, but anything powered will not.
Controller rumble requires power as well. If the rumble no longer works on the controller then the wheel will not work either.

Power cord

This depends on what type of PS2 it is.Original or Slimline. If its the original, No I don't believe it will hurt it at all. I lost my powercord for my PS2, and saw that the one for my PS2, and my Cd player/stereo was nearly the same, but didn't have the same end on it. So I cut it to fit the hole (Warranty Void there I'm sure) and sure enough it worked. I was even able to use it on my stereo still. If thats the case, please be careful when cutting if you go that route. If you have a camera, or an camera-enabled phone, maybe you could take a pic. for us to see the cord. If it's the Slimline version though, and your talking about the cord that plugs directly into the PS2, then yes there's a good chance of it damaging it

Re:power a/c cord for pacific digital

if you have the power supply aka the brick and just need the cord from the brick to the wall, a PS2 power cord works just fine! I found that out by accident, but since PS2 is very popular chances are you can find one at any store or on ebay. from the brick to the round post on the back of the device, I don't know about that one...but if you just lost the one piece..the PS2 works fine

No power light coming on just the fan starting up and staying on

1. check your power cord make sure its in all the way.
2.if that's not the case your ribbon cable running from your reset/eject button is wasted or has come unplugged. if you have to get a new one ordering one is all most impossible .. getting your hands on a junk one is better..(( NOT ALL PS2'S ARE THE SAME INSIDE)) some have a wide ribbon some have a thin one.. but ill post a vid showing ya where they go..
here is the link just copy it into your browser.
