Could be a contactor, but also could be a burnt out condenser motor. A person that knows how to use an ohm meter can let you know.

Sounds like a contactor problem. this is the switch that kicks the outside fan amd compressor on. If the inside fan runs it will be on the outside.

Air conditioner isn't blowing cool air and it's not coming out of the vent very fast

Check to see if air is blowing out the back side of condersor, outside ,maybe fan not blowing on outside, or freon low.

2000 NISSAN 4X4 P/U A/C SYSTEM WILL BLOW COLD WHEN OUTSIDE AIR TEMP IS COOL, WHEN HOT OUTSIDE AIR BLOWS HOT.

your auxillary fan is not working. this fan is responsible for cooling the freon that is being circulated in your cooling system... check if there are any loose wires in front of the engine bay.

the auxillary fan is located right beside your radiator fan.

My air conditioner is blowing hot air. I have added 2 cans of freon? What else can I do?

is the evap canister cold? And is the pump turning on and of with the clutch on the ac pump? Also could be a electric motor that controls the flaps in the dash that control hot and cold. I have found that sometimes using the can freon will not put the pump in operating range for the ambient temp on the high and low side. There has to be a certain level on both sides that works with the outside temp!

The fan is running and it is blowing air through the vents but its hot air. This happened overnight so I'm thinking it's not needing freon ???

The question would be, is your outside condensing unit working, fan and compressor? If not, you might have a capacitor out or a burnt motor/compressor. If everything on the outside unit is working properly, then you might have a refrigerant problem, and it can seem like it happens over-night sometimes. The charge just slowly decreases and eventually it will not condense or evaporate the way it needs to. Just some things to consider, hope it helps!

Goodman A/C won't cool

Fan motor or capacitor has gone out. Running the unit with the motor not running can cause damage to your compressor

The fan is not turning on my outside air unit but it is still blowing hot air through the vents. There is also ice build up at the bottom of the unit. It is making a humming sound.

You will need to replace the outside fan,or condenser fan motor.
Shut unit down, before the compressor gets damaged.

Without the condensor fan the heat will not be blown to the outside air and the unit will not cool.

You may be low on freon too, have it checked.

My a/c system is blowing hot air; outside fan is not engaging

First check for line voltage 240v...if thats good .check for burnt wiring at fan capacitor.if you hear the compressor humming but still no fan you may need a fan motor.. when buying your new motor make sure to match horsepower and r.p.m
