Question about Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

We purchased a fisher and paykel upright stove and the oven once used has now a deep hollow in it. It was brand new and it is as if the bottom of the oven has melted away and caused a large indent in it. Also quite a lot of smoke comes out of it when it is turned on.

How to I remove fisher & paykel range knobs

They should just pull straight off. If they're a bit stubborn get a small screwdriver, protect your stove with a rag and carefully lever under the knob edge. There is nothing fancy holding these things on, just friction and they are keyed so you cannot make a mistake when putting them back on. Cheers.

You can purchase special ceramic abrasive cleaner but I doubt it will suffice. There are other glass polishers but I suggest phoning the Fisher and Paykel customer service line for their recommendations. Cheers

Hi - It will seem the electronics PCB is on the way out - it should be replaceable at what cost I cannot be sure. The best option would perhaps be to upload the actual model of the oven and its serial number & perhaps I can check on the F & P database if the parts are readily available.

If you can provide the details and country of abode I will see what I can do for you in regards to parts.

I have a Fisher and Paykel Saffron oven - stove top elements have started only working on high - unable to turn these down.

The temperature switching device has 'died', and needs replacing. This is a continual problem in these stoves (we have replaced each of ours at least once or twice in the 7 years we have had it). I will never buy another F&P oven!
The only solution is to get F&P or another repairman to come out and fix it. It cost us $AU 215 each time.

I really don't know what to tell you. During the clean cycyle the metal probably melted and is permantly sealed to the bottom. You are lucky the oven still works. Sometimes using foil will destroy sensors or other things. NEVER use foil in ANY oven!!!!! The only exception is to partially cover the shelf underneath something you know is going to make a mess. Even then don't cover more than about 60% of the rack.(Never do this in a convection oven as the fan will blow the foil ) Also NEVER!!! allow foil to come in contact with a hot burner. It will melt to the smooth top or coil.

press and hold the mode button for more than five seconds. Then use the knob to scroll to "Default". This sets the stove to normal operation.
