Question about Microwave Ovens

Product - Whirlpool Polara electric refrigerated/range model GR556LRKB. After completing the cleaning cycle neither the oven or the broiler will operate. You can hear a solenoid click when you select either one and the display acts like everything is ok but the heating elements do not come on. I tried the cleaning cycle again and it locks the door but no heating element. The electric stove top burners work ok. There are no error codes generated. Gary

I pulled the oven element and it ohmed out around 25 ohms and it doesn't look damaged. I researched parts on EBAY and found a source for parts. Looks like this unit is actually made by Maytag, even though it is a Whirlpool brand. There is one part listed as a limit switch. It costs $58.96 which I don't mind spending if you think it is the same part you are calling an infinite switch. The only other part I can find is called a sensor ($99.90) of which there are two in the oven. One is located near the oven element and the other is near the broiler element. Surely both of them can't be burned out. As I mentioned in the beginning this all started right after the cleaning cycle. I hope this isn't a weak point in this unit and it is going to happen the next time the cleaning cycle is run.
What are your thoughts on the limit switch?

Hello,

what this indicate is that there have been a loose of wire from the wiring connection connected to the element (HEATER or heat provider)during the cleaning up the element is sometime at the both(lift and right ) side of the oven depending on the size and the make of it at the top Conner of the oven(note).

what you are to do to fix up the problem is to carefully open (unscrew)the oven with stroll driver of same side with the strolls or trace the wire down to the element in the oven it is silver in nature or color then make sure that all wires are in
/on there position connected to the element then couple back if open

please note this information make sure that all form of power supply are disconnected from the oven before opening it or carry out any of the assignment .

thank you and thanks for using fixya.

Hello,

Turn power to the oven off at your home's circuit breaker box. Remove the three screws from the control panel with the crescent wrench. The control panel is on the outside of the oven, above the door handle. Pull the bottom of the control panel toward you, then lift it up. This action will release the control panel cover's tabs.

Identify the malfunctioning part. The mechanism that operates the door latch during the self-cleaning cycle will be behind a smooth, square plate held in place with two screws. White, black and red wires, as well as a grounding wire, will be protruding from the face of the plate. These wires will be twisted together with other control panel wiring and covered with electrical wire caps.

Remove the failed part by removing the caps and untwisting the wires. Using the crescent or an appropriate wrench, extract any screws holding the plate in place. The cylindrical-shaped mechanism will be attached to and behind this plate.

Visit a hardware store to acquire a replacement part. To reassemble, slide the new mechanism into where the old one was and reattach the plate with the screws. Reconnect the wires by twisting them together and replacing the electrical wire caps.

Replace the control panel by slipping the top of the panel into its groove and angling the panel downward, dropping the tabs back into the slots. Replace the three screws using the crescent wrench.
Take care.

    Hi Jumuah

I am not sure if you understood that the door latching mechanism does lock the door when I select the self cleaning cycle. It also unlocks if I select STOP. I am not sure how that would keep the heating elements from working. I would be curious to know IF the failed part is identified would I be able to purchase it online. This unit was puchased from Sears and they don't have parts for it at their parts store online.

    Hello,

Yes, the part can be ordered online, go to ebay site to order for any part of any device, the site sell almost all the parts and device of all unit.

Type ebay.com on your web browser to purchase and order for any parts of devices, it will be delivered within the shortest time.

Heating elements eventually burn out. Sometimes,
when an element burns out, you can see that the coil burns in two, or
    blisters and bubbles.

When your heating element burns out, you have to
replace it because they are not repairable. If, when the heating element
burns out, the infinite switch that controls it also fails, you have to
    replace it too.

    Take care

Assuming your power line voltage is okay, it would not surprise me that after 27 years, your high voltage capacitor is drying out and increasing its capacitance. This will cause variance in the high voltage output, which can stress the magnetron and increase current consumption.

Need to know how to self clean a whirlpool oven... Model number RF302BXDW it is suppose to be a self cleaner, but does not have a cleaning mode.

I checked the owners guide here:
https://www.whirlpool.com/digitalassets/MLPDF/Use%20and%20Care%20Guide%20-%203189066.pdf

The cleaning steps are on page 23 of the manual.

One product I find that works well on all oven surfaces is Mr Muscle kitchen cleaner. I have a real hard time finding it in the USA stores. Product image and description Link below:

How do I use the self-cleaning function on my Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 self-cleaning oven?

If you just want to run the basic self-clean cycle. First remove the broiler pan and racks from the oven. Next clean any heavy spills up with a non-abrasive cleaner (do not use an oven cleaner). Clean the window of the oven door and the door frame (to the outside of the gasket). Then close the oven. If the oven has a touch-pad, press the Auto-clean pad on the oven followed by Start. The oven will automatically lock and then unlock when the oven has cooled after the cleaning cycle. (I'm less certain of the control settings for the dial type of oven control.)

In order to get your manual you need the full model number of the oven. This is on a plate located behind the storage door. This pdf, http://adcxns1.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/ca8e028c60d9804f85256a8c00621f04/$FILE/4322089.pdf , gives you a picture of where the model and serial numbers are is on page 4 as well as some of the information contained in the serial number on the subsequent pages.

Once you have your model number, go to http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/product_literature/search.jsp?siteCd=WHRCOM and enter the model number. This should let you get the manual specific to your oven.

I hope this helps.

What would cause a electric stove oven to smoke out the oven vent after you cleaned the oven inside completly

There may still be some crumbs left behind that you didn't get completely wiped out; assuming you did wipe it out. It could also be the broiler pan if it was in the oven.

66993 pizza oven microwave oven combo pizza oven not heating error code f1 microwave part works

Hello, please use the chart to determine which stove you have. You will have to look at the model number. The first 3 numbers will be the series on the chart. In most cases an F1 error would require replacement of the electronic control. This part is commonly refered to as an EOC or ERC. However this type of repair is usually reserved for repair specialists.

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes – 362 Series (General Electric)
F1 = Stuck Touch Pad Key - Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 911 Series (General Electric/Roper)
F0-F1-FF = Failed transistor in Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes- 665 Series (Whirlpool)
F1-E0 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E1 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E2 U/L ERC Errors - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E3 Fuel Type Fail

Kill power 30 seconds-Cancel-Start/Enter-5 seconds-Should see “E” for electric-
“9” for gas-If code changes again-replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 790 Series Electronic Oven Control (Frigidaire)
F1 = Shorted Touch Pad = Electronic Range Control (EOC) Internal check sum error.
Runaway Temp = Replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Kill power 30 seconds - if error returns - replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Thanks

Integra fan convection - rsa regency

you might be able to just clean the ignitor to get it working again. Take it out and give it a good cleaning. If that doesn't work then it could be your spark module. If it is your spark module it will have to be replaced. I have replaced spark modules and ignitors of ovens or ranges that you can no longer get parts for with whirlpool modules and ignitors. There are basically two types, just make sure you get the same type. One type , typically used by GE uses a continous ignitor that glows when it works, and Whirlpool (on most models) uses the spark module and ignitor that makes the clicking sound like your oven did for ignition.
