You connect the two computers in many different ways, 1. you can use a router 2. you can use a port switch or network hub 3. you can connect this two computers thru a UTP CABLE with a cross over connection. after connecting using either any of the mentioned above you need to run the network wizard inorder to have a network.

I accidentally pressed a button on my keyboard and now my gateway desktop screen is a bluish green tint how do I fix it?

I do not think it was a button pushed on the keyboard. Check monitor connections making sure that they are connected correctly. It may be a video card matter. Power computer down as well and push in the power button 1-2 seconds. Then power back up computer and see if this fixes this. If not check cables and do repairs as needed in a shop if your not that experienced with computers. John

Harddrive keep shutting down

Does the computer keep randomly shutting itself down?

Think about these:
Is the computer located in a cupboard or enclosed area?
What is the ventilation like around the computer?
Have you checked for any dust inside the computer which could lead to over heating?
Try running a virus check on the system when it is stable, this may require booting into safe mode to do.

I need sound on my computer....

Sorry to hear about your sound problems.
1. We can't diagnose your problems with the information you have left us.
If your speakers are with a amplifier, you may have a Bad Amp.
If you do not, you may have a Bad connection to the rear of your PC.

If you have a amplifier hocked up to your system, most of the time, if you unplug the sound, at the rear of the unit, you can hear a static sound, if you can hear this, your amp is working and you may have to reload the drivers for the sound system on your pc.

Before going thru all this trouble, you should check all connections first before proceeding any further.
Hope this information has help you somewhat. !!

Computer not talking with printer

First reboot the machine-- then if the red X is still there check for a paper jam-- and or empty ink cartridge(s)---

Then go into "Printers" and make sure YOUR printer has a CHECK mark next to it which means it is the default printer.

All you need to do is replace the power supply, where the plug plugs into the back of the computer. Power supplies start at around $25.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya. Thank you.

Hacker tried to get into my computer

192.168.X.X is an internal network address...your "hacker" is either in the same room, or at least on your network, the other is an IP in San Francisco, CA, and PPPoE is a very unlikely method for a "hacker" to use, it's actually a very secure method of connecting 2 computers over the internet.

do you still have it connected direct when you're doing the wireless? also, go to your control panel, and click on wireless configuration icon, and follow those steps.

make sure all wireless connections are in positive(on) condition.
