the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Error code 8002a548

Here are the official troubleshooting steps from Playstation for that error code: https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3948/kw/8002A548

Basically it's saying you're having network problems...
Are you using your PS3 over WiFi?
If so, try plugging a computer cable into the back to see if the problem stops.
Make sure you do a network connection test in your PS3

These might also help:
Try resetting your modem/router and disconnecting other devices from your network. (they may be needlessly sucking up bandwidth.)
Also, try shutting off the media server connection. (Settings > Network Settings > Media Server Connection > 'Disable'.)

Tip

View media from your computer to your PS3

What you need:
Windows (XP-7)
A recent router system
Internet cords
PS3(obviously)
Television
Surround Sound system (optional)

Make sure all your connections are in. You can do this wireless, but the picture will be choppy. If your router is 2 feet away from the PS3 then no problem.
Go into your PS3 settings and enable ATRAC, WMA playback and Media Server connection. Leave the PS3 on.
Go to your computer and go here to download PS3 Media Server.
Once installed, go into Navigation/Share Settings. The default is "all", but if you want to only specify certain folders, click on the "+".

A matter of CPU. If you only have one, only playback files if they are 7-900Mb, anything more and your CPU will be struggling to send the data.
2+ cores and you can playback files as large as 4Gb-20Gb.

The PS3 is compatible with a wide range of files like MKV, AVI, M2TS and WMA.

You can even enjoy your music and edit photos. Turning your gaming system into a media entertainment centre.

I can only speak for WinXP Service Pack 3 and Windows 7 build 7100. For me the program worked flawlessly. Handling full 5.1 Digital surround sound.
The settings were fine on the Media Server, not having to change a thing.
I haven't experienced any trouble with the software and I have been using it for 4 months now.

Cannot get Sony PS3 to find the media server on my network. It is a wired connection. The PS3 has no trouble accessing the internet. I have tried DHCP and tried giving it a static address. I've tried...

Shut off the ps3
Go to start, run, then type services.msc.
pick windows media network sharing and stop it
go to c drive, docs and settings, all users, there should be a DRM folder delete everything inside.
Go back to servies.msc and start back up the windows network media sharing
Then turn back on your ps3 and it should work, check wmp11

NOTE: It is your system and your responsibility for using this information. Be careful with what you do if you are unfamiliar with these instructions.hope this helps

Am trying to connect to the internet on my ps3. I have a Linksys E1000 wireless router. I go through the step by step connection process and It keeps saying: "Obtain IP Address-Succeeded, Internet...

I got every solution in the book and tried them. I learned that the simplest solution is always the best. I was getting the same messages.

Make sure the "Media Server" on your PS3 is set on "disabled"

Make sure that UpNp is "disabled" on router. (I know that previous answer said opposit but I am just saying what worked for me).

The key really seemed to be disabling the media server. Try it and let me know. As I said, I tried all the complex solutions and think it was just the media server.

sometimes it could be that the server is having problems and that your connection is weak. but when all things are working o.k this one little step has fixed many download problems. on your ps3 XMB go to SETTINGS> NETWORK CONNECTIONS> and disable the media server connection. i don't know why but disabling this settings just seems to work. maybe it'll fix your problem

Try turning off your Media Server Connection and update it...
You can turn it off by going to your system settings and go all the way down to Network Settings and click on Media Server Connection and disable it. That was my problem.. Hope this works!

Ps3 error 80710723

This same problem happened to me awhile ago. The way I fixed it was I went under settings to network settings. Then went down to media server connection and disabled that. Once I did that I had no trouble at all updating games. Hope this helped :)

PS3 says DNS error (80710102) when i try to connect to the internet with a wired connection

for mine i tried other fixes and they didn't work. Turns our my router had enabled security but the PS3 had forgotten the password (WEP key).

I turned off the WEP on my router and the PS3 suddenly found its connection.

To say I was getting stressed is an understatement, Sony should put something on their website, it seems like a really commonm problem to which people have no clear route to solution.
