The +5 line is overloaded or shorted on the A or B boards. Will need to troubleshoot the +5 volt circuit

My Sony KDS-60A3000 randomly turns off, then the red "Power LED" blinks three times repeatedly (not "Lamp LED"). We turn it back on, the process repeats again between 20-60 minutes.

3 blinks of Standby/power LED of Sony sets denotes a SMPS board [G-board] failure. . Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

My 73" mitsubishi dlp WD-73827 turns off and has a red status light blinking. I have replaced the bulb and the heat sensor... any answer to what else could be the problem?

It is helpful to have the sequence of the blinking red light. This may help:

MODELS: WD-52627 / 52628 / 62627 / 62628 / 62827 / 62927 / 73727 / 73827 / 73927

3. Error Code Operational Check

Note: The TV must be in "Shut Down" and not have been switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational

Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to "12" No Error.

Pressing the front panel "DEVICE" and "MENU" buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds,

activates the Error Code Mode. The LED flashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problem

has occured since the last Initalization.

Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.

• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.

• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.

• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.

• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

Example: If the Error Code is "23", the LED will flash two times, pause, and then flash three times.

Kfwe50a1 will not start, green light comes on and then flashes red 6 times

Hi Keith,

6 flashes of the led light is an error code and the unit will not fire-up unless isolated the faulty parts.
To confirm if it is the real fault, unplug the unit from the outlet for 15 minutes and then plug it back in and check if the symptoms still persist.
Your unit has a self diagnostic screen that can be access by pressing in rapid sequence "Display", "Channel 5", "Volume (-)", "Power" on the remote control while the unit is in standby mode or the led light stops from blinking.

Self diagnostic screen will be display. Error code will be display together with numerical "0" means no fault detected and "1" means fault detected.
You will see "6 : LOWB with a numerical "1" on the screen, this is an error code for 6 flashes of the led light.

After you've confirmed that the the error code is "6 blinks/ LOWB error code", then the G1 board (Power supply board) is faulty. LOWB error code means that there's a malfunction on the 6Volts output of the G1 board.

To isolate the fault on the G1 board, you must have a skills on electronics troubleshooting, soldering and desoldering parts on the board, have necessary tools and test instrument. If you can't troubleshoot the unit yourself, don't worry, there's a DIY solution so that you can save money for the service fee of a TV technician. You may replaced the entire G1 board(part no. A-1087-323-A), this is more convenient if you are going to do-it-yourself because no troubleshooting and soldering required. I would advice you to obtain the board from your nearest Sony service center because this board is currently not available online.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Ratings and feedback is highly appreciated.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

We had thunder storms my tv 65613 has a green blinking light wont star

Good Day,mikeybecerra; TV wont come on mb try these 6 items, please pay attention to the blinking light (it's a code) : 1. Check for no 8.4 volts DC at pin 3 of PC9A10 on the Power PCB, if low or missing replace PC9A10 part # 268P058020. 2. LED does not blink at plug in. Check for 3.3-volts DC at connector RF pin 3 (system reset) if low or missing suspect the reset switch S7L20 part # 432P109010 on the Control PCB. 3. LED does not stop blinking after plug in. Verify the standby supplies, 12-volts at connector KA pin 17, 6-volts at KA pin 18 and the 28-volts at KA pin 19, if the supplies are present suspect the DM PCB part # 934C067001 4. LED does not stop blinking after plug in. Check C9B01, C9B02, C9B10, and C9B11 (1000 UFD 16) on the DM PCB, if they are bad replace them with part # 181P734030 (680 UFD 16 V). LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. 5. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Check for 3.2 volts DC at connector RF pin 4 and 5 on the Signal PCB if low suspect problems with the switches/buttons on the Control PCB part # 935D736001 6. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Keyboard is not locked and key inputs at connector RF pin 4 and 5 check good suspect the E2P PCB part # 934C061001. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Blinks 3 times

Hi Wayne, In most instances 3 blinks is a diagnostic mode indicator where the builtin protection has kicked in. Very likely a powersupply problem with the B+ over voltage protection (OVP). Should you venture to do-it-yourself, you can try a hard reset (unplug the unit from the mains for a couple of hours (about 5 hrs). Pls note: Most probably & in some models/version/firmware - Sony uses same model number but for different regions and/or different versions of the firmware and therefore the blinks may refer to something else. If a no go on the hard reset, normally, I would recommend the services of a qualified TV professional very familiar with your brand. However since you want the part numbers, I will assume that you would want to do it yourself. Try checking power transistor 6?? and fusible resistor 6?? (numbers may be vary) in the power supply board. Due to regional differences, version update and other factors, the actual part number and/or component value as well as board number/letter may vary. Your best bet would then be remove, test, replace. If removed and confirmed defective, you have the actual part number needed and as per sample. This is of course component level repair. Replacement power supply board may also available. Actual board number is printed on the board itself. Of course, the standard precautions must be observed especially in the HV area. Good luck and post back should you need further information. kind regards.
