My oven gets too hot. flame doesn't shut down

I have a smaller size stove due to the amount of available space. No matter what temp I set it to it just keeps getting hotter and hotter. I set it to 350 and waited for it to heat up. When I went ot put my brownies in it seemed to hot so I used my thromometer and seen the temp was 425. I figured the thermostat was off so I reset the temp to 250 and when I checked again it was hotter still. no matter what I did the flame never shut down. Would this be the thermostat causig the problem ???

The problem is the temperature probe has failed. This is inexpensive usually and easy to replace. This link should help

Need to adjust down the amount of gas coming into oven

I would advise do not use like this as it could be getting too much pressure in the system or the burners could be burnt out. I know of a house that burnt because of a problem like this and they kept using the stove. I don't know the name of the gadget but please get it checked out. there is a valve that is preset at the factory

It may be the thermocouple assembly...this is a device that senses that the pilot is in fact lit...it looks like a copper tube with a smaller tube coming off of it and the smaller tube goes to the gas valve and the larger part of it sits just above where the pilot flame is..this allows it to get hot telling the valve that there is a pilot and that it is ok that the valve turn on providing the gas to start oven..if this part goes bad then the pilot will not stay lit..themocouples are available from most hardware stores and are usually universal

The oven safety valve has to be cranked down for propane.themobilian_815.jpg
Get a good fitting wrench and tighten this spud down and open the air shutter on the burner.
This video shows how to tackle a crank down and flip type LP conversion whilst yours might be a bit more fancy it still must be adjusted like any other stove:

Heard popping noise and circuit to stove blew. could not set time or oven temp when reset breaker

Hi
Sounds like your oven heater failed. Not sure if its a fan oven or static type. If you hear a fan inside the oven then its classed as a fan oven

Simpson 2001 series upright electric stove oven does not get hot only gets warm

It could be the oven element (behind the cover plate in the back of the oven), or the fan not blowing the heat into the oven.

Too hot

Hi, not sure if you ever received a reply, but there is a setting known as "bypass" on commercial thermostats, if you took the cover off to replace it, you can access this screw, it is part of the body of the thermostat, either to the left or the right of the knob shaft, usually has a "B" stamped, or molded into the body. What this setting does is when the thermostat reaches temperature, it would normally close, shutting off the supply to the burner, thus the temp would begin to fall, by the time it opened back up, the temp would have fallen too much, causing a large temp swing. The bypass setting opens or shuts a passage that "bypasses" the thermostat main valve, keeping just a little burner, making the swing, or fluctuation smaller. So, you probably have a setting too big, causing your bypass flame to be too big, raising, or keeping the temp too high, try turning it in (cw) to lower it slightly, a small turn makes a huge difference, so go easy. Hope that helps, and thank you.
