It normally on the LG means your washer is protected by the Child lock function.
it either takes the option and the temp button at the same time for 3 seconds or You'll see a smiley face between the wash and rinse buttons. Press the rinse and wash buttons for a few seconds at the same time and the child lock (hence smiley face) will switch off - Not to familiar with this model but this should work.
