Question about Sharp LC-32SB24U 32 in. LCD TV

1 Answer

I have a Sharp LCD 46 TV model LC46LE810UN connected to U-verse DVR by HDMI. When I turn on the TV using Input4, the TV does not get a picture. All I see is the input4 HDMI 490p or 1080i, maybe a h1006 message. I can get a picture by re-boot of the U-verse receiver. I conntacted AT&T and no answer. Thank you, **** Kinney

Its a firmware bug in the reciever software. Updating it may resolve the issue. Ask AT&T guys if there is a firmware update available for your receiver.

I have just bought 32 inch sharp flat tv. I want to connect the base to the tv but the package did not come with screws or bolts. What type and size of screws or bolts do i need? Where can i buy the screws...

What is the model of this 32" Sharp TV? Some stand is snapped in type.
If they use screw, they will be Metric screws, either M4, or M5 from HD, or LOWE'S, or ACE hardware, about 35 cents each.

I just purchased a sharp lc46le810un and it has no color picture from my Direct TV cable box. I am using yellow red and white cables to connect to the TV. Sharp does not address this issue in there...

Sounds like you may have plugged the cables in the wrong way. We have direct tv and none of ours have the three cables. it uses either a coax or an HDMI cable.

Sharp Aquos 46" HDMI problem

I have a similar problem. The Sharp TV aquos appears to be shutting down my blue ray player and dvd recorder when connected via HDMI. They work fine and never close down when I connect them via the rca cables either single video connection or a composite 3 cable rca lead. I have 3 HDMI inputs on the tv and the problem occurs on all 3. Any suggestions?

Close captioning on HDMI

The TV will not display closed caption with HDMI input. It must either over-the-air (antenna) or composite input for the TV to manage CC.

To get CC with HDMI from your Comcast DVR, you need to configure the cable box. Instructions can be found here:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_to_use_a_Motorola_DVR/Setup

If you want CC all of the time, this works well. But since you must power-off the cable box to change the setting, switching CC on and off is a real pain.

Your set-up is similar to mine (Sharp Aquos 46" and Comcast DVR). I have the composite output from the cable box going to a DVD-recorder and on to the TV. Whenever I need CC (usually to catch some mumbled dialog), I just rewind the DVR, and switch the TV input to the composite input. Then I switch back to HDMI to continue watching in HD.

Logik tv

I just experienced the same issue that is described in the previous post. I went through all of the standard trouble shooting modes.
  • Powered down the LCD
  • Switched HDMI cables
  • Checked and reset all connections (even unrelated devices)
I finally got a picture when I made a straight cable connection. I have a sling box attached through my cable box and noticed that the picture was fine when viewed on my PC. I thought it had to be a problem with the LCD. As a last ditch effort I powered off my DVR box, it must have reset the signal from the cable box to the television because everything is working again. I hope this helps you.

My Sharp Aquos 46" LCD

Digital inputs on Aquos TV's are "always on," usually the HDMI inputs and DVI inputs. As opposed to analog inputs 1, 2, or 3, are only activated once something is plugged in.
Try plugging in another HDMI sources into input4 or 5, if its still not working, the TV needs a new Main Board. Try calling Sharp 1-800-237-4277 and locating a local service center in your area.
