Question about LG enV VX9900 Cellular Phone
Okay so ii have had this env for two years. well ii have had an env for two years. ii have gotten many replacements, well one day ii pull the charger cord out of the Env, and i go to plug it in that night and it wouldnt charge. ii was trying to see what was wrong so ii shook it and found out that the part you plug the charger into shakes. well ii took it into verizon and they said ii have to buy a whole new one!!! is there anyway to charge the phone without having to use the bottem part. like charge it through something else or some other part or something.
please help! ii can not afford to pay $250 right now.
I have the same problem with my enV my friend stripped the wires to my charger at the part where you plug it into the phone so now to charge my phone i tape the red wire to the positive on the battery and the black wire to the negitive there will be a shiny metal goldish color thing (there like 4 lil gold bars) on your battery that looks like this --> (negative) | | | | (positive) | - | | | + | tape the wires on the outside were the symbols are - and + and try not to let it toch the middle bars on the battery or it wont work and dont cover the little bars up with tape put the battery back in the phone making sure the wires dont move to much and it should charge sometimes you got tape the battery onto the phone to make sure it doesnt pop out but its what i do and it saves you money on having to go buy a whole new one or if you know someone with the same phone give them your battery to charge it :)

Go to accessorygeek.com and buy the universal charger. It charges the battery directly, no need for the charging port.

I contacted LG directly. I am on my 3rd. phone since July 2007. I believe that they should recall all of the EnV phones and replace the data/charging ports, because it is obviously a manufacturers defect.

If you can't solder it back on the board you can buy a universal externalcellphone battery charger. They work I have 3 of them. They have them for car charger and wall charger. Unfortunately you cannot use the phone if you are charging the battery unless you have a spare.

Get a different phone... the charger port problem has happened to me 3 times in 2 months. Verizon and the LG enV are trash.

I very first got the EnV, when it had just been shown to the public. And within ONE week of having it, the charging port broke. There was absolutely no reason it could have broke, unless being a manufacturers malfunction. We took it to the Verizon store, and they gave us a new phone, because it was under a warranty.I got my phone taken away by my mother about a week later, due to a massive overage on the bill. She used it for over a year, with no problems. When I finally could have it back, I decided I wanted the LG Dare. But that phone didn't fit my fancy, so I switched back to the Env, mostly for the keyboard. Now I have had it again for probably.. 4 months. The charging in general has been iffy for some time. Both due to the charger and the phone. But tonight, the port decided to completely bust. So now, I have to go back to the Dare, which I loaned to one of my friends. And this is creating far too many issues. The EnV's should have been recalled and the problem fixed. Because with THIS many people having issues, it's become a massive issue. I don't recommend the EnV, whatsoever,
