Compressor is too hot to keep hand on. Exactly which part is the likely candidate for replacement? Part number listed above was for an overload relay that in the parts list doesn't pitorially appear like the right one. Ours looks like the "production only" version of the compressor.

Just unplug and let the compressor oil that flowed into the freezer evaporator to flow back to compressor. Unplug and wait 24 hours until trying to restart. Ifyou can not feel or insure compressor is running wait longer. The oil is thick and in liquid state it must seep through a hole about 10 feet and the opening can be as small as a sewing neddle. Let me know if this has been helpful, Thank You Sea Breeze

OK the you need to remove the paper backing that covers compressor and confirm compressor is running and also if if by placing hand on top of compressor to see if too hot to keep your hand there there. If too hot you may just need a new start relay Part=>2262181 that has built in overload. You can also get a detailed photo if you like by going to my blog Sea Breeze Appliance Parts clicking any banner and price just about everyone and entering model number or or part number. Here=> Appliance 911 or simply the least expensive place is=>
Please tell me if your compressor is cold because then I want to do something different. Take that part number and enter into search part feature here=> Sea Breeze Appliance Parts Tell me if compressor is cool. Sea Breeze

It appears that the production relay is no longer avaliable. So I gave you the replacement number 2262181 and it may be a good idea to have the run capacitor checked at a local Refrigeration Air Condioner Supplier to insure that the capasitor is still good, as this also could be the root cause. The difference between the Production and Service Compressor is that Production was what came on the refrigerator. Production parts are no longer available. Service meaning the now replacable parts. Your Parts Manual can be found here=> KSRF22DTAL00.pdf and User Manual here=> KSRF22DTAL00.pdf I can understand how confusing this can be so if you need me sooner you may contact me here=> Appliance 911 or the page here=> Sea Breeze Tips where I could only find a photo of the start relay. I hope This helps, Thanks Sea Breeze

The capacitor ia part=> 482996 is Repair Clinics Part 595338 Run Capacitor and there is no photo. It is listed under the start relay on the same page.Sea Breeze

Moving my fridge on it's side or at an angle

You can lay it down but if you do, when you stand it up, wait 24 hours before you plug it in to turn it on. The reason is because the oil in the cooling system has to settle after being layed down.

We moved a 2004 whirlpool fridge it was cold before we moved it and now the fridge part is luke warm and the freezer is getting warmer. Help please

When we transport a fridge we try to keep it always at a verical position and if this is not posible and need to be horizontal then after we put in place we have to leave it for 12 hour relax before we switch it on so the compressor oil will balace on the bottom and thus full lubricate the compressor motor parts.
Now There is another option that during transport have created a leak which this is the worst case.
So can please describe the timing of the transport , how long it stay relax after the transposrt and how long you have it on now and what temperatures you have in freezer and fridge. Also the also the model of the fridge

Heating strips which prevent door condensation over heating

During the move a hand truck got into the condenser fan and shut it down. Pull the fridge out and remove that cardboard cover in the back. On the left you'll see the compressor, on the right is the condenser fan. Make sure that there is nothing blocking the fan blade from rotating (I bet there is). Don't forget to replace the cardboard! It's crucial to the operation of you fridge.

After clearing the fan, plug it back in and you have your old fridge back! Cool, Huh?

Show me some love and rate this solution, will ya? Thanks!

Red alarm light is on on Westinghouse upright freezer

Most probably during transportation either the coolant(previously freon gas) may have leaked out so the pressure on the cooling pipeline causing the red alarm because the compressor will overheat if the fridge is kept running at very cold thermostat readings and no effect of cooling the fridge will ultimately result in the compressor getting burnt. However fist have look at thermostat setting knob which could have loosened during transportation and just pushed into the spindle without knowing the correct angle, thus even though it looks as if on high cool but could also be the lowest setting..........sodeep

Fridge will not cool down

Since it has been two weeks that you have posted this, you probably have a cold unit by now, but if it was ever transported horizontally, they are supposed to stand unused for a couple of days before you try to run them. The coolant system has lubricants in it that may drain from the compressor where they are needed and require a little quiet time to recover.

Kitchen Aid Fridge problem

ok first the freezer does all the cooling for the whole unit and in order for it to cool properly the freezer needs to be a certain temp it should be around -10 -6 if its not reaching that temp it will still freeze and apper to be working right also check to hear if the freezer fan is running as it pulls air from the fridge and cools it then blowes it back look in the freezer on the back wall toward the bottom see if frost is building also in the refridgerator section on the left hand side of the cabnit is a return vent make sure its not blocked and see what the thermostat in the freezer is and let me know we need to know things like this to help narrow the promblems and people dont reply to the questions so we cant answer appliance repair is a skill
