Question about LG Vu CU920 Cellular Phone

5 Answers

I have an AT&T LG VU 920c phone that is unlocked. It is set up to utilize AT&T internet and mms. I need to set it up to access the internet and send/receive mms for Viaero Wireless. I have been told from Viaero, they can not offer support for this phone since it is not one they sold.

If I am unable to get Viaero to give me these settings-does anyone else have them?

  • mgross41 Jul 09, 2010

unfortunately I have tried this since I have two other phones but can not seem to get the settings to work. Thought I had it for a couple of weeks and then both stopped working.

  • mgross41 Jul 09, 2010

I have two other viaero phones but am not able to make it work. This phone requires a couple of pieces of information the other two phones do not require. I agree this should not be so difficult.

I appreciate all of the suggestions but still have not solved the problem.

Hi, you need to ring your service provider you are now using and ask them to send you the correct mms and internet settings, tell them you dont want the support all you need is the settings for their network

you need to say to them the phone was on another network and you have had it unlocked as you want to use the network your trying to get the settings for, these settings are universal across all phones so the settings for that phone would be the same settings as anothr phone any make or model, so just tell them you have put the sim card into this phone and you now need to get the settings for mms and internet.

They will send you these settings via an email and they will not charge for this, when you put one of their new sim cards into a phone it will automatically send the settings to you via txt message so you need to tell them the phone has the settings on it from the old network, how ever if you stress to them that you prefer their network and have been a regular customer they should send you the settings, they cant charge for this but you will need to tell them that the phone accepts the sim card and you can make calls from it but all you need is the mms and wap settings sent to your phone.

Once they have sent you these your phone will ask you update so you choose update and it will then store the new settings on your phone and you should then be up and running in no time.

So give them a ring and say you have paid to unlock the phone and you need to update the phone to the latest mms and wap settings, tell them that you want to use their network.

they cant refuse to send you the settings if they do ask to speak to a manager as the settings are universal across al phones so dont ask for support just tell them to send you the mms and wap settings to your phone number so you can send and receive picture and media messages and use the internet.

You could also try looking on your service providers web site as a lot of service provider have these settings on their that you can send to the phone yourself so its worth loking, how ever not all the service providers offer this service but most do so have a look at their main site.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Hi, you can only access the internet and mms on the Viaero network by manually configuring the phone yourself since Viaero cannot offer you their support. Try and get someone using a Viaero network and copy out the configuration settings for internet and mms and put it in the phone.

Take care

Hello,

do you know someone that uses viaero wireless? Access the person's phone and copy out the gprs and mms configuration settings from the phone, then enter the configuration settings on your own phone.

The configuration will comprise of ip address, username and password, homepage, etc.

This is what you need to do to get internet installed on your phone.

Its not a difficult task. Manually do the configuration and that would be all.

Good luck.

Okay,

Viaero is not saying that because it was not bought from them there saying that because it was not MADE FOR THERE NETWORK.

In general you need 3 peices of information

1. There G3 net work server infor example wap.viaero.net
2. A user name
3. A password.

This information is then put in your phone's profile. But again the wireless company has the rights not to support this phone and this is out of our control as well.

Let me know ether way I am intrested in the outcome here.

please do click the accept button for my efforts.

By default we at fixya do not know those two peices of information as those come from the provider, not us and it has to be programed into the phone. All the more reason to stay away from unblocked phones that are not supportive of the provider.

Hello,

From my findings, Viaero Wireless have specify phone for there network service, if you have to use Viaero Wireless, you will need to get the phone from them, and they will help configure it with there service, without this, there is no way, you can get the service from them, they are private limited company and will only give support when you get the phone from them. so if you are interested in there service, be ready to get there phone, there is no way you can configure your LG VU 920c phone without contacting them, so it of no use, since they have told you they cannot render support.

Take care.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

My LG KG70 (Shine) on Vodafone Australia wont send MMS, its says there are no MMS settings?

My friend you should contact your service provider since that is a network related issue.

They will send you the MMS configurations & just accept it & i'm sure that your MMS will work. Sometimes, they need a 24 hour activation period.

Hope that'll help you..

Happy Holidays...

Y cant i recieve mms or go on the internet on my unlocked lg vu cu920 that im using with t-mobile not at

your phone has not been "provisioned" for those capabilities. The unlock that allows you to use a T-mobile Sim only removes the Network Lock. You still have to go into your browser settings and enter the information for Homepage, APN, IP adress and username and password if necessary. Google provisioning the LG VU for T-Mobile. Email me if you have any problems and I can probably get the steps for you. Please don't forget to rate.

You most likely have the wrong MMS settings. Call T-Mobile wireless technical support to get the correct settings and change them in the VU.
