Question about LG 50PC3D 50 in. Plasma Television
Our 4.5 year old lg plasma tv 50pc3d appears to burn in from black (like a lava flow) during startup then picture is washed out after warming finally. Any suggestions. It happened overnight. All the vents were blocked so I'm sure it was very hot. I have the maintenance manual but don't see a clear direction other than the obvious do nots. thx
Hello,
The reason your television burnt out is simply because there was so much heat in the area that needed ventilation.
It is obvious that there is a component in it that got burnt. So i will advice you open up the back of the television, then you try to view the boards, you will see the burnt component. it is most likely it is a capacitor.
Once you have seen the burnt component, replace it with a new one. If it is a capacitor, carefully, turn the board to the back and heat off the lead with a soldering iron, then you gently pull it off, then you replace it with a new one.
After doing this, screw back your television together, after properly connecting its cable back.
Ensure that you unplugged the television while doing this.
Take care
