Open one browser and let the computer idle.
Right click on blue portion of the task bar.
Click on Task Manager
Look at application tab to see is there any application running beside your browser.
Performance tab will give you a good idea is what's going on.
Example: I got one bowser and 4 internet windows running and I am using 3% of the cpu processing power.
CCleaner.exe is one of the best cleaner out there.
BE CAREFUL when you get into the site because there are lot of advertiser on their web page.
I recommend you to wait for a friend who is experience with computer to be around to download and ran CCLEANER program.

Does the lights blink red? If so, You have the infamous YLOD, aka. Yellow Light of Death. (now it comes back on, eventually it won't) This is the number 1 cause of pS3's dying. It is an overheating issue linked to your CPU and GPU (the processor chips) You will need to find a local PS3 repair shop who can repair this. Do not try to attempt repairs seen on the internet yourself as some would suggest. You could make things much worse and render the unit totally unresponsive. The repair process takes about 3 hours.
