The issue you are experiencing with your printer i.e error 2200 is related to "Scan Carrier Stall error" I believe the steps mentioned below will fix the issue,

2. Disconnect the power supply from the back of the printer.
3. Wait 15 seconds.
4. Reconnect the power supply to the back of the printer.

I have seen that in most of the cases (with lexmark and dell printers) it is fixed by reinstalling the printer software. Be sure that you completely remove the older drivers using the cd or using add/remove programs.

I used to have a Dell all-in-one and had same problem.
I asked Dell for new installation disc and re-installed it and that seemed to to solve the problem.

I have a dell i810 and a HP dv6 laptop running windows 7 64. Ever since i upgraded from vista I cannot get my printer to work. The scanner works just fine however, whenever i try and print something the error "could not communicate with printer" appears and nothing prints. There is no avalible patch for this printer. Under the Devices and Printers tab on the start menu i right clicked all the printers and removed them all. I have tried reinstalling and still the problem persists.? anything else guys?

quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer
and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer.
Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset
it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print
again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.
that doesn't help, try the steps below:
Disconnect the printer from your computer.
Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
Delete the Lexmark print object.
Reboot your pc.
When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.
Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control
Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the
list again, then try to print again.
