Question about Dell Dimension 2400 PC Desktop

My computer was recently infected with the rouge virus called AV security suite. It apparently has been going around to alot of computers. I can get rid of it by running Malwarebytes in the safe mode but the virus keeps coming back in a couple of days. Any permanent cure?

Malwarebytes will cure the error for a while but as you said the problem tends to return.
This is because the registry has been corrupted by the virus.

Run malwarebytes in safe mode and let it clean the system. Then if you can use system restore to take the computer back to a time before the virus installed itself on the computer. If you have no restore points on the computer then you will need a registry cleaner like CCleaner to clean the registry and clean the temporary and temporary internet files.

You can download CCleaner from the link i have provided below. If that does not work you will need to reinstall the operating system or use any recovery CD's that you may have got with the system.

Microsoft also has online tools to scan and remove malware. For more information and download go to ....

Trying to get rid of Security Master AV

It sounds as if you are still infected. If you have acess to another PC you can download and burn the F-Secure rescue CD which will scan your system before your OS boots (you need to set your BIOS to boot from CD).

Product key for microsoft word 2000

Call 1-800-RU-LEGIT, and have your credit-card ready.

Note that Microsoft stopped issuing "security-updates" for Word 2000 and Office 2000, in August 2009. Therefore, it is *NOT* safe to open any Word document -- any "recent" computer-viruses inside the Word document will *NOT* be detected/blocked, and your computer will get virus-infected. Ouch!

Cannot install security system on comp. I scanned it and came up with 44 viruses etc...

John, most AV software will not install if it determines your computer is infected. It's kind of a Catch-22 - can't install AV, since you have a virus (or 44...) and you can't remove the virus since you don't have AV software!

Try using this free, reputable online scanner to clean the machine, then reboot, and do your install again. Keep in mind that the scan may take a long time, and that you may need to reboot and rescan until it's completely cleaned.

Hope that helps!

Can my mobile w550i get infected with virus? if i am using internet & downloading files in a computer

Yes. Just the same as a computer can if you are not careful what you download. Only download items from websites you trust, and ideally download them to a computer, check for viruses, then transfer the file to the phone. Here is the link to the user manual if you need it; Check page 56/57 - "internet security" - there is basically a built in security function, just check it is on. Later models have anti virus software that can be added and used in the same way as a computer AV software, but it appears there is none for the 550, so apparently the built in internet security function works well. Hope this helps :)
