There should be two or three screws at the back holding the top on. Take these out and slide the top back and off. Inside should be a service tech sheet that will tell you what the code means and what to replace or check. Once the top is removed it shouldnt be hard to see how it is disassembled.

    Actually the code is "ts" and means you have a shorted thermistor

Samsung dryer is showing TO, what does it mean?

Dryer thermister is open. Thermister Open. Thermisters will change in resistance with temperature changes. The control relies on reading from this thermister so it can make a determination of whether or not to turn the heat on. If it is open then the control don't know what the air temp is inside the dryer and therefore it shuts down and declares an error. The thermister is mounted on the blower where it gets the air coming out of the drum on the way out the back. The fuse is right next to it. I bet you would like a service manual wouldn't you? I have a whirlpool cabrio dryer model WED6600VWD. What does the F1 error code mean?

Hello,

The F1 error code means that the thermister (cycling thermostat) has a open circuit and should be replaced.

To check the thermister you would need to DISCONNECT POWER TO THE DRYER remove the lower small front panel below the main one where the door is at and using a digital meter set to measure ya would remove the wires from the thermister and check for appx. 5,000- 7,500 ohms at room temperature.

If the ohms at within 5 thousand to 7thousand 5 hundred at room temp. the thermister is good and the control board is what the problem is....if the ohms is way lower or higher that 5-7,500 ohms the thermister is going to be what would need to be replaced.

Here is what the thermister looks like

Hello,

The E1 error code means that the electronic thermostat is the problem. With what your describing as far as it being very hot and the E1 code,i would suspect one of 2 things;

1) the thermister is bad and needs to be replaced

2) thier is a blocked/restricted vent and or excessive lint built up in the blower housing causing the heat to be retained in the dryer instead of being vented out and across the thermister where its getting a false reading and throwing up the E1 error code

I am getting the E1 error code on my dryer. It spins and heats for a moment but turns off before drying clothes. I've searched the code on the internet and I believe i need a new thermistor

Hello,

Yes i concur...the F1 error code does mean that the Thermister is defective and needs to be replaced.
It fits the housing where the lint filter is and you can remove the panel below the main front panel where the door is mounted .

The part number for the THERMISTER is 8577274 it could be purchased at your local appliance parts store or online at;

Dryer will not start get an error code that looks like a t5.

It is actually error code "tS" which stands for thermistor shorted. The control interprets it as an extremely low resistance which is a result of a the dryer overheating. Locate the thermistor on the blower housing and replace it. Click on the link below and refer to the parts diagram then look for item number 27(thermistor).

Click on the link below if the error code still appears after replacing the thermistor.

Dryer wont run gave me f40 code, can you help me?

I found two possibilities for an F40 code.

1) Error Code F40 is that the thermal fuse has blown.

2) The F40 error code is a communication problem between the machine control board and motor control board. A bad connection might or might not cause this.

I have a Kenmore Elite dryer and I get an error code E1 sometimes.

Hello,

The reason for the E1 error code could indicate a problem in the dryer's thermistor or its wiring circuit. You can see what a popular thermister looks like at this link:

LINK > Whirlpool/Kenmore Dryer Thermister

It should usually measure in the area of 1.5K - 10K ohms but they can be intermittent and test Ok when out of the circuit and only fail during operation making them difficult to pinpoint as the cause of problems. If all the rest checks out, sometimes the thermister just has to be replaced to see if it solves the problem or not.

God Bless.

My Frigidaire Electric Dryer keeps giving an error code

If your dryer is the same or similar to mine (Model AEQ6000ES2) then error E68 is a stuck key on the keypad. This may be mechanically stuck or the membrane contacts. The simple solution is to replace the keypad.
I found this information by searching for "Frigidaire Model AEQ6000ES2"
