How to realign drive axle with brew unit after a jam? Brew unit was jammed in Magic De Luxe, had to disassemble brew unit to extract it from machine. Now drive axle will turn 1+ full revolution when unit is powered on. Brew unit mechanism is not capable of 1+ revolutions. I do not want to reinstall brew unit in fear of stripping gears.

You can do it quite easily if nothing is wrong with the machine by tricking the switches.
Put small plastic hose or flat screwdriver where the brewunit latches in (a small slot in the machine careful not to push away the switch lever), and similar action with the door switch. Insert the dreg draw and turn on the machine. IT will perform the selftesting and the gear will return to the neutral position.
If the gear turns very slowly there is a problem with the power card and service center job.

I can not release the main component in my Saesco de luxe. Here a loud clicking noise when machine is turned on.

Hi
The loud clicking noise is a broken brew drive. This usually happens when you use the pre-ground button but put more than the level scoop into the brew unit. The brew unit can't compress the coffee and jams the brew unit which breaks the drive gears. Drive gears have to be replaced. I have some drive units complete.

Brew unit warning light keeps flashing even when brew unit is properly engaged

Hi
Try pushing on the upper left side of the brew unit when its installed. If you hear a click, it should have cleared the light. If so you need to lubricate the outlet pipe on the brew unit. It is dragging on the brew unit when you are trying to install it. This will allow it to seat correctly. Use a food grade lube like what came with your Saeco.

Steady Brew Group Light: Old Saeco Magic deluxe

Open the door on the right. The brew unit is the thing with the handle that has the push on it. You need to push on the upper left side of the brew unit until it clicks. There is an outlet spout on the opposite side of where you are pushing. It goes into an intake port that needs to be lubed, so the outlet spout will slide in without pushing back. That should take care of the missing brew unit.

Steam comes from wand when set to dispense water.

Check the connection to the boiler from the pump, there is no water going to the boiler. Try this test, remove the brew unit you will see a white plastic valve behind it, carefully lift the small lever on the valve(HOT WATER), if water sprays, then the problen is at the brew unit, if no water then the boiler inlet or outlet is clogged.

I have a Saeco Magic De Luxe. I am having a problem intermittent

Could be the pump not providing enough pressure to force the water through the coffee. When using beans or preground, can you still hear the pump function?

Grinder won't stop

Hi
You have a micro switch on the doser that is in need of a replacement. It is a special micro switch that is just for the doser. It is very sensitive. If the micro switch is not activated the grinder will run until it times out, but the coffee will fill the brew unit and that could break the brew drive.

Flashing brew group light

Brew group light is lighting. Could be a number of things....

Machine may need to be primed. Try turning on the steam valve and let some water threw. See if that helps.

If you can't get the brew drive out, its jammed. You could try unplugging it for about a day, and then plugging it in, sometimes it will reset it self. Else it has to be brought back in, should take 5 minutes to do.

It could also be the descaler light popped on. hold down the steam button and it may turn off.

It could also be a sensor that wasn't put back properly.

Its hard to really say, the light diagnostic system for magic's isn't the best.

Red exclamation light keeps blinking

Brew Unit is jammed. Has to be taken in to get it unjammed.

Depending on the unit it can be as easy as hitting a few microswitches at the same time to having to unscrew and disassemble the brew drive (Not a fun task).

Sorry there isn't an easier fix to it. You risk damaging the brew drive if you fiddle with it which aren't cheap to replace. Cheaper to have it unjammed by a tech.

Opened the grounds cup while machine powering on, now it's blocked

Here's the deal.

1. As you've probably learned by now, don't take anything from teh machine when its powering up and even when its going threw a brew cycle.

Here's whats happened, There's a set of microswitches that connect to the main board on the unit. One of the switches is triggered by the grounds cup.

When one of the switches is set off the unit goes into alarm and locks down.

Now to your problem. When the machine starts up its just like a brew cycle. The machine goes threw a Test mode of sorts where its checking the brew drive.

Once you pulled the ground cup, i'm almost 100% positive (its a common problem) that you set the alarm off mid cycle and jammed the brew group in place.

Since the brew group switch and the ground cup switch are so close together, it basically jams them both per say.

So basically unjam the brew drive to its original position is the only way to fix the problem.

Option 1: 2 tiny screw drivers. Turn the machine on. By the brew drive there's should be 2 holes where there's little metal clips stick out. When you press them with the screw drivers, the machine will trigger the brew drive back to the original settings.

Option 2: Flat head screw driver. where the grounds cup is there should be a little slice on the machine. turn machine on. place screwdriver there, brew drive should go threw test and then back to original position. Once everything stops, you should be good to go.

Option 3: Sent out for service. Worst case scenario.

Don't use alot of pressure as these pieces are all aluminum and plastic.

Wish ya the best of luck.
