Question about NEC MultiSync LCD1830 18.1" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Our NEC Multisync Plasma screen monitor was functioning fine. Next day the screen was black with a few colored pixels showing. The picture returned shortly, then went to black again. Now nothing. What could be causing this?

Hello,

the picture board of your monitor has developed fault. You need to get the picture board for your monitor fixed.

You can also try hitting the monitor from the back and there should be a display. This is what I do when my monitor does like this.

Take care.

Where do you find a picture board? Approximate cost? Can it be removed and installed by myself? Or where do I go for a repair i.e. Best Buy or a computer repair place?

    Hello,

I would advice or prefer you take it to a computer repair place so that you won't damage anything further in the process of replacing the picture board.

Allow a professional fix it for you.

    Good luck.

You likely need to adjust your Windows OS resolution to match the native one of the Multisync monitor (1680x1050 pixels).

How to increase brightness of my monitor i put it

Hi, you can try this; in a clear area of the Desktop screen (right)) click, once the desktop window open, click on Personalize, next click on Display Settings. You can adjust the brightness by by doing the following: On the resolution scale adjust from Low>High; you can do this until you are satisfied with the view. In the (Colors) drop box, click the down (Arrow), and choose the "Highest" color (16bits>32bits) etc. Next click to open the (Advance)) settings, click on the (List All Modes) button, once the window open choose the (Highest) settings: example (1366 by 768, True Color (32bit), 60 Hertz. Remember to click the "Apply", and "OK" buttons after each selection or change. "Hope this helps' Ya"

Nec 700 crt

Not a solution at all, but I'll post that I have a NEC MultiSync FE700 monitor that I purchased back in 2001, and have I been using the monitor since that time. Lately the monitor has been showing signs of 'acting up'. I read on the Internet that CRT monitors generally have a working life of about six years. It may be, depending on years of use, that the monitors are just reaching the end of their life.

Screen and colors too bright

CRT and LCD will look different when compared side by side. Is your CRT calibrated, or are they right in the sense that they are what you are used to? Also Anyway, you can adjust the colors and light levels from the menu on your screen, and depending on your operating system and graphics adapter you should be able to make adjustments there, too. For windows XP, right click your desktop and select properties->Settings->Advanced. There might be a color management tab. Also, there might be software to help you do this already installed. Look for a program group with the name of your Graphics adapter manufacturer. Very often ATI or nVidia.
