Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Sony Bravia KDL46XBR-LCD. No picture but sound. Trouble shooting light blinks 5 times in cycles. What does it mean.

Hello,

If your television blinks 5 times or for a count of times, it simply is indicating that there is a problem inside the unit.

The problem applying to this situation is a faulty lamp. The lamp is bad and simply need to be replaced.

As soon as you replace the lamp, the television will be in good condition once again.

Take care and good luck

Sony KDF-E42A10 rear projection TV. Won't turn on.

Start by changing the lamp. If you got 5 years out of the old one, count your blessings, most folks only get three. The lamp is designed to be replaced by the consumer. Ebay will carry a replacement for you or you can get it directly from rivervalleyelectronics.net. They've got good prices. The lamp door is on the back. Its really easy, give it a shot.

Toshiba satellite a135 monitor goes black

You could have a defective screen - a defective inverter or a CCFL lamp.
To determine if you have a LCD screen or video card problem, read this and follow the instructions.

Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom:

  • Screen flashs on red/pink and off.
  • Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
  • Picture flickering with dim display.
  • Picture flickering on and off.
All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

The fan may have went bad. If it's out of warranty you may open it up and try and blow some dust out of the fan to see it that may do the trick if not it may need to be replaced. Westexaudioelectronics.com

Picture & Sound blink off 45 seconds, blink back on, repeats

If the lamp is foggy then you really need to replace it. The lamp life is typically 5 to 7 thousand hours. However if your tv gets a lot of dust inside which is pretty normal as most people don't vacuum the dust off from the rear cover on a regular basis then the lamp life will be drastically reduced. I suggest you replace the lamp and make sure the inside of the tv gets vacummed out to remove as much dust as possible. A Sony servicer should be able to check the amount of hours on your lamp. You'd be suprised how soon 5-7 thousand hours happens. If the lamp will not come on after replacing it the lamp driver may be at fault. You haven't said how may times it's blinking. If it's 5 then the lamp driver may be at fault.
