I have a Stoves 720GRA gas double oven. I have had it for about 9 years and I am in the UK. Problem with it is neither of the ovens will light now. Turn the knob and after a minute the ignition clicks but will not light. Gas supply is fine. Just stopped working a few days ago. Also does the clock display have anything to do with the oven working correctly?

If your oven uses silicone carbide ignitor and the ignitor is glowing the problem could be the ignitor is not drawing enough amps to open the gas valve. If the valve is open the ignitor will not glow. If the ignitor is bad it won't ohm out.

If your oven uses DSI (direct spark ignition) It may be that the gas distribution valve has a bad solenoid. The valve has 3 terminals: broil on top common in the middle and bake on bottom. You should get 216 ohms between broil and common and bake and common. If either one is open the valve needs to be replaced.

Hey I am in the US and have not seen your type of oven. All ovens have some sort of safety device to shut off the flow of gas where their is no pilot light present. I would be willing to bet you have a faile safety device or maybe the pilot light is blown out. Impossible to tell. I looked online to no avail on my part. You are probably going to have to get the gas fitter out to do a looksee. Here is a page I compiled on various safety devices for ovens CHECKING OVEN SAFETY VALVES.
FixYa does not specify where questions come from, I get myself into trouble for trying to help sometimes.

That's a nice oven to have. Judging by the picture it's a professional model.
I looked up information on this particular oven and it doesn't seem like many people have purchased it or reviewed it.

I think it said on one site that the oven has a fan in it. Does the fan go on?
Also, it said it had a clock. Can you see the clock digits and/or operating?

Are you operating this oven in the United States or abroad?

Are you sure it is plugged in securely to 110 or 220 volts (depending on the plug) 60 Hz?

I understand the oven has a 1 year warranty. Hopefully you just bought it within the last month or so, I would surmise.

Where did you buy it? Did you have it shipped in from another country?

Is the Gas you are using Natural Gas or Propane?

Did you have a natural gas stove there before that worked?

Sometimes the gas must go through the lines and displace any air that was there before the appliance will work properly.

I wish you luck in solving this problem for your Premier 720GRa Gas Double Oven.

As I read comments from other consumers who bought this oven, they seem to have one or another oven of the two not working (igniting).

One person actually had 3 engineers replace the circuit boards and another person had the igniters replaced and this still did not solve the problem on a 10 year old oven, for instance.

I'm afraid that I do not know exactly what is causing this break down, but the best solution that seems economical is to change the igniters, if they are still available from the manufacturer.

A lot of people think that such ovens are indestructible because of the selling price.

But, in this case, a more median type of oven would have a better igniting system.

It seems strange to me that the oven went bad all at once (both levels).

I have had 3 engineers out to try and fix my stoves 720gra cooker and has changed all the printed circuit boards ,and all other parts but still the top oven and grill doesnt work and has now been classed...

check the voltage on the spark generator, should be 240dc or 110 ac.
or it could be the harness(wires fron spark generator to ignition) to check harness do a continuity test,an electricion will know,or get a electirc tester and do it with the instructions.

Our oven had the same fault.

It turns out that the air intake was blocked.

The air intake is at the front, just below the bottom oven door. Some liberal sucking with a hoover sorted the problem instantly.
