Question about Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer
Pulled out tray, checked paper and behind tray. Opened printer, took out ink cartridge. Could not see any paper jam or any problem. Turned printer off and back on a couple of times, get nothing but flashing red light. Is there anything else I can do. I do not have a manual or any documentation. Printer is only 6 weeks old.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

through yahoo I found an hp manual - turns out there was a bar on the lid that faces the glass that I hooked under the backing - worked like a charm - stinks that the manual that came with the printer did not include any problem solving or details - the online version had 260+ pages - good luck

SOURCE: ink cartridge carrier jam
Once it jams on the left turn off the machine. usually my lights are all red at that point, one is blinking the other two are solid red. open the cover. shine a flashlight in there, you will see a clear or light grey plastic ribbon that runs from the left to the right. it is the top most thing. Very carefully, clean it with a paper towel and a little water. or a kleenex. it should be almost clear.
after done, move the cartridge head to the right without turning on the printer. once again, clean the clear plastic ribbon where the cartridge head was located. finally turn on the printer, when it stops initializing, click the paper feed button, if you were successful, you won't see it jam into the left side.
if not, try repeating again. I think the optical head could also have some junk on it, and will deposit it back on the clear grey plastic strip.
the clear strip passes through the cartridge head. I'm told it is called an encoder strip and the optical head reads the strip to know it's position.
when that strip is dirty or covered with some ink spots, the print/cartridge head, can't read it and slams into the side the the printer.
this happened to my c80 at least 3 times now in seven years.

i'm thinking it's a config-related problem. i've seen a comparable problem already. could you check the settings in the printer software? there is setting that says "print first page from different tray" if its box is checked, the printer wants to print the rest of the print job from another tray, and will block when there is no other tray available.
if you find this setting is not marked, then i propose to delete the printer driver and all settings and then downloading the most recent driver from the manufacturer's website and installing that one.
