How do i use?

Turn it on. It should work itself. After a day the compartment at the bottom is a bucket and it comes out. It will fill with water, the machine will shut off. Dump it. Put it back. It will start again

I have a Zenith Dehumidifier, ZD309Y9 and the water tanks handle broke. How can I get a new tank?

Do a quick search for part # 4839A10004J - this should be the tank assembly for your unit.

How to attach drainage hose to drain automatically

Because your model dehumidifier has an unusual continuous drain hook up, as compared to other brands, I have included a link to the Owner's Manual for your model. You will find the information on page 3. You can downlaod and print the, manual for future reference.

http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/content/pdfs/123922.pdf

One thing the Owner's Manual fails to mention is the length of the garden hose that can be attached to the unit. It should not exceed 5 feet. As drainage relies entirely on gravity to drain.

I hope this has helped you. Please let e know. Thanks.

I lost the instructions and want to set up a direct drain, however, I don't remember what settings are what...ie fan, the hour glass thing, or how to set the house temperature...help!

Here is a link to the Owner's Manual for your model dehumidifier. You can download and print the manual for future reference. I would encourage you to keep it in a safe, accessible place, as your model has been discontinued. Which also, mean take good are of your unit and do routine maintenance on it. That will add to the longevity to it's use.

Hope this helps you get the constant drainage hooked up properly.

Cannot connection drainage hose because of blocking cap. Do I have to disassemble whole cabinet?

The cap should just screw off the hose connector. You may have to carefully drill a 1/4" hose in the center of the threaded hose connector, once the cap is unscrewed. Some models require that, others don't.

I want to add a drainage tube to the unit so I don't have to keep emptying the collection container. How do you de-activiate the "full bucket " switch? I have the Kenmore Model #...

Roren, once the hose is properly installed, it's not necessary to deactivate the bucket switch. Unless, the tubing inside the hose connection is clogged, the water should drain through the hose. However, the hose should not be longer than 5 feet and should drain down and away from the unit. As the drainage relies entirely on gravity.

If you have already tried this and was unsuccessful, the hose connection drain is clogged. You can use an 18" plastic Zip Tie, inserted carefully into the drain hole connection to loosen the clog and remove it. But, you'll have to gingerly work it past a bend in the tunbe, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then while pulling it back out twist the Zip Tie to dislodge the clog. As you reach the end of the Zip Tie, be prepared for some water to follow. Also, check the hose for clogs before connecting to the unit.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

With this model is there a way to attach a hose to it so that I can leave it running continuously while the hose is draining into drainage hole in my basement? m7dh65b2a

Yes, there is a way to do it. As a matter of fact, your model (now discontinued) came with a short section of hose. However, you can still use a short 5' section of garden hose and achieve the same results. To find the hose connection (if you don't have your Owners Manual) remove the bucket and you should see what looks like a hose connection (which it is) behind where the bucket sits in the unit. If it is not there, inspect the back of the humidifier for a small 2"x 2" pop-out compartment door. Inside of that is the hose connection. Remember, dehumidifiers do not have pumps to pump the water out, they rely on gravity for water to flow through and out of the hose.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks

Needs to connect drainage hose to dehumidifer

There will be some form of lever or activation device that depresses when the bucket is inserted. There should be a way to move it to a permenant "on position". Make sure you have a model with a humidity sensor or the thing will just run forever. It may be that if your model doesn't have a humidty sensor there is no way to "force" it to stay on although that would make no sense if there is a hose attachment to drain constantly to a sump pump, etc. Have you tried going to a store like Sears and just looking at a dehumidifier? Ask a clerk how the thing works if you attach a hose to it. You might be surprised what you can learn from just nosing around the hardware and small appliance section.

Has anyone figured out how to get a 25-pint Frigidaire dehumidifier (model FDD25S1) to put water out the drain hose for continuous draining instead of into the bucket? It appears to be impossible to connect the hose in a way to avoid water leaking into the bucket.

Hose Drainage

yes, that is what the knockout port was designed for. Make sure the hose you get does actually thread onto the hose connection port before you punch out knock out. The hose should be a standard garden hose connector.
