Try this, set the dial to "Drain" press the reset button 4 times in 5 seconds, this will reset the computer and if there is anything wrong it will show its self up, I had a simuler issue, by doing what I have put it completly cured it, all has been good ever since

SOURCE: Error Code d5

It sound like a loose or a broken lid switch issue. The lid switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. Good luck!

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Just in case I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my comprehensive guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem, good luck and sorry to have wasted your time if it isn't!

Samsung front load washer code d5

The D5 error is actually DS. The code means the washer thinks the door is open or unlocked during the cycle. the problem is related to faulty door locking assembly. There is a switch in back of door, if this fails it wont work. God-Bless!

D5 error

Error code D5 OR DS is the same. Its mostly DS which looks like D5. The D5 error is actually DS. The code means the washer thinks the door is open or unlocked during the cycle. The door has to be checked. Is it getting properly close/open.If its getting close/open then the problem is related to faulty door locking assembly. But if its not getting proper close then there is any blockage causing the door to close or the door lock latch is faulty causing this problem.

Hope helps.

GE Profile washer shows d5 how do I eliminate that so I can wash

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
D5 is a lid switch error. It comes on when there are 3 complete cycles without a lid switch actuation. Either the lid switch has failed or something is causing the lid switch to not sense lid movement. This is a proximity type switch that uses a magnet to actuate the switch. Check to see that both the switch is in place and that the lid itself is not loose at the hinge or shifted to one side.

The lid switch is item 90 of this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5130746

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=3204102

You can try to unplug it for 6 minutes and plug it back in again to clear the code but if the lid switch is bad you will get the D5 code again. Not only that if you have children around it is not safe to leave the washer un-attended with a bad switch because the machine will not stop spinning in the spin cycle with a bad switch. If they lift the lid and stick their hands inside the end result can be quite horrific.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Code D5, what is it?

A d5 error code usually means Sd. This error code is displayed when the control detects the basket has not seated on the hub or that the pressure switch has detected a Suds-lock condition. The washer will try to run a mini-clean out cycle using cold water and a 5 minute pause to clear the suds. If this cycle does not clear the display and complete the cycle the clothing may need to be rinsed by hand and then rewashed. The fault is caused by using the wrong detergent or excessive amounts of detergent.

Note: If the Hard Reset does not work, there may be an internal failure with the washer.

it thinks the door isn't locked even though it is during a wash cycle, check for bad connections around ribbon cables inside the machine,as corroded cables will block small electrical signals

What does code d5 mean? The machine will stop and stay idle for several minutes and then start again. This happens several times per load, but eventually finishes.

Hi, The reason for d5 error is due to defective door lock switch. You will need to have this damaged mechanism replaced to fix this problem.

WASHING MACHINE DOES NOT GO ON

Check your display panel again- there is no such error code for the LG WD-3245RHD. You can have: "dE", "tE", "FE", "PE", "CE", "LE", or "dHE" but there is no "D5" error code.
