This may be possible on laptops with a "magic" or "blue" button.
Many brand-name computers have a hidden recovery partition on the hard-drive, designed just for this purpose.

Contact the tech support for specific instructions for your computer.

Also, many computers have a set of factory recovery disks, to re-install everything.

You will loose all your settings and possibly some data when you do this, so back-up anything important.

Finally, you may be able to re-install the windows operating system from a setup disk.

You may want to try to repair your software installation, before taking such extreme measures, however. You can probably hire some smart teenager in your neighborhood to do this for you. If your plan is to destroy and rebuild everything anyway, you have nothing to loose

How do i unlock my acer labtop

Kindly try this Windows Password Recovery Basic... A CD/DVD, or a bootable Windows PE USB is required (instructions included).

There are many password reset tools, but I haven't personally tested them. Windows Password Recovery Basic is a widely spread edition though...

Once reboot the computer with CD/DVD/USB, remove the lost or forgotten password and then log in to your computer without any password.

Here is its official website, Hope it helps

Power cords and mice you can pickup at almost any computer supply place. The power cord should be no more than $5, and basic optical mouse can be bought for $10 -15. I have one of these machines and I think they are 2004 - 2005 vintage.

Need help logging into computer without passcode

If this is WindowsXP, reboot the computer in safe mode by re-starting the computer and pressing F8 repeated as the computer starts up. You will be presented with different "modes" to start windows in. Choose 'Safe Mode". Then (in safe mode) click Start and then click Run. In the open box type "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes). You will now have access to all the user accounts, including the administrator's account and will be able to reset the lost password. Just click the administrator user account or any account, and then click Reset Password.

Factory restore

Who made the PC and what year?

For example the new dell systems I think everyone made after 2005, has a feature where on startup you press and hld the "F11" and it will restore an image of factory settings without the need of a disk.

If your doesn't offer this, you'll need an operating system disk, you can buy these, once bought you boot from it, we can explain how later, then basically delete the partitions and install XP or whatever operating system you decide to buy on your PC.

Before you do any of this, I would recommend buying an USB drive, or DVD RW or CD RW disk and backing up your data, I like USB cause you don't need a DVD writer, or anything like that.

Good luck!
