Remote use ofr power off/on

My remote seems to everything right... except I can not seem to use it for power off/on. It is a pain to keep rollin gout the jukebox and manually switching off/on. What am I missing (setting?) DukeR

    Thanks Dave! I had already bought (past Thursday) a remote as you described from Radio Shack ($15). It works, I was just looking for a longer term solution. I guess I was right, the jukebox remote does not really seem to power off the unit... very odd! I am concerned that the Radio Shack remote is rated to 8A but we will see. Thanks for the assist! DUKER

The On/Off switch on a One More Time CD remote unit doesn't actually turn the jukebox on and off. Strange but true! You're not missing anything, honestly. I think the button was/is related to switching on an external background music through the jukebox but only if you have the correct adaptor in the box already.

The problem can be overcome by buying a remote controlled mains adaptor plug. You plug the juke into the adaptor and the adaptor into the wall. You can then turn it on and off using a small remote button supplied with it.

Our fireplace stopped working. the piolet light is working , everything seems to be ok except the remote control won't turn it on what do we need to check?
So assuming remote is functional then receiver has failed, or not powered, or fuel solenoid malfunction. Check there is power to the fireplace as the pilot flame is self powered via the thermocouple. If fireplace has power, then either receiver or solenoid has failed... again assuming remote is working. Doesn't if have a start or test button on the fireplace? Not likely the remote is the only on.

What's the make and model?

you have to sync the remotes to the wii box[consol]

On the wii box there is a door under the power/restart buttons, in there is a red button push it..

next on the remotes open the battery cover, look for the red sync button,

push the sync on the wii box first then on both remotes to sync [synchronise] them.

it can be a pain in the... but keep trying untill it sync's

YES. This seems to be a common problem. I am just researching doing this with my Gateway.
Things to remember.
1) Shops which do this have the parts to do it right.
2) You might get a better price if you remove the motherboard and just send the mother board for soldering.
3) AND THIS IS VITAL. Some jacks are soldered in such that power is delivered to both sides of the motherboard using a copper sleeve. If you try this at home, you might not get the connection right.
Sorry for the bad news - talk to a shop which can do the repair. I saw prices of $90-$130 for everything except the shipping of course. . .
