Anyone know how to change the SMS alert on this phone. It comes with a really boring one preset and even though there are quite a few pre-loaded sounds that lend themselves to an alternative alert, I can't figure out how to change it.

Re: Change SMS Alert on Motorola W375
It took me a while to find this.
Settings / Ring Style / scroll down to Detail & press the left soft-key to CHANGE. In this menu you can adjust default ring volume, and select different sounds for calls, texts, voicemail, alarms and also adjust key volume.
If you are clever enough to make your own mp3 ringtones (they need to be tiny files to fit on this phone's tiny 500kb memory) you can even select these as your call or text alert.

To change your SMS tones with your Sony Ericsson Aspen, please follow the steps:
1. Go to MENU 2. Then SETTINGS 3. Go to PERSONAL 4. Then PROFILES>Choose whatever profile u want eg. Normal, silent, driving, meeting, outdoor etc. 5. Then PERSONALIZE>you will see the MESSAGE ALERT and you may already change the SMS tones.
It's up to you, what alert tones you want to choose.
Hi I'm afraid that on earlier Samsung models it was not possible to change the alert tone for sms messaging. You usually only got 10 preset alerts. Ringtones was ok to change only if in right format recognised by handset.
Hope that helps?
Menu > Settings > Phone profiles > click the two arrows beside Normal (or whichever one you use) > go to the top of the screen and select New Messages > Choose Message Alert Tone > Sounds > choose the file.
SETTINGS>>PROFILE SETTINGS>>SELECT YOUR DESIRED PROFILE>>MESSAGE SETTINGS(RIGHT POINT OF YOUR SCROLLING BUTTON>>MESSAGE ALERT TONES>>CHANGE>>USE MY ALERT TONE>> EXPLORE>>> SELECT AND SAVE>>> YOUR PROBLEM IS SOLVED!!!!!!!!
I hope that I understood your question right and that you are looking for some sort of indicator that you have received a message on your flip?
Well, it could be that your SMS Alert is set to "Off".
You can activate it by going to "Messaging" Then go into "Options" (Left soft key) Then go to "Setup" which will then ask you which type of setup. Go to "Message Setup" This is where you'll see the "SMS Alert" status. Set this feature to, "On"
Hopefully this is what you were looking for, if not, feel free to respond.
Hello you two. the problem might be your networks and not the phones cause the motorola w375 comes mms enabled all that will be left for you to do is to activate mms from your network. all you have to do is call your netwrok and ask them to activate it for you. and if they say they did do this the other way round. instead of changing it to sms confiugre your mms.Under Message Setup > MMS Message Setup there is an Autosignature
field. How on earth can I set a signature for regular SMS? I don't use
MMS so that feature is basically useless to me. Is there anyway to get
it in SMS? i hope i helped bye!
