Asks for settings config every time it is turned on

Out of the blue my Casio EXILIM EX-Z1000 Digital Camera has started to ask me to configure the settings (language, time etc.) that the manual says is only necessary the first time. And now it does the same every time I turn it on. What to do??

Hi.the problem of your camera is the capacitor that you can found from the main board.the capacitor works as battery for the internal setting like your date and time even you remove the battery the setting still there. but once its damage you need to replace.if you can replace its better but if not bring to service center and for sure they will not charge you too much.

thank you

How do I change the date on my exilim EX-S6

The option to change the date and time only comes up when you first start up your camera. To make this option show up again you have to remove the battery from the phone for a few minutes, then put it back in and turn your camera on and the options to change the language and date should be up on the screen.

Configuring display language, Date and Time Settings.

Perform the reset operation to initialize the camera’s setup (page 136). After that, configure each setting. If the language selection screen does not re-appear when you turn the camera on, it means that the camera’s built-in memory management area has been restored. If the same message appears after you turn power back on, contact your retailer or a CASIO service center.
