Question about DISH Network ViP622 DVR DTV Receiver / 180-Hours Video Recorder

Pink and blue images occasionally on power up of DISH DVR

One to 3 x/week my DISH 622 does not turn on properly. When power is turned on from the remote, the screen shows a pink and blue TV image that streams across the screen like an old fashioned vertical hold problem. I've had this happen with two different receivers and two different HD TVs over the last seven years. The only way to eliminate it is to hold down the power button on the front of the unit until it resets. Any explanation?

Toshiba 56" DLP and older Toshiba rear projection HDTV (which we no longer own).

Connected via both HDMI (to DISH Receiver and RGB (to amplifier). I recently put all new cabling in and so far, the problem has not occurred again. However, the problem always occurred sporadically on both TVs.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks so much

Thanks for your help but this has happened on two different DISH DVRs and two different TVs. So far, the cabling change has worked. I will get back to you if it starts happening again.

Tell me a little more about how the receiver is connected to the tv and if this is present on both tvs at the same time and lastly what brand and model of tv you have. I recently had an issue somewhat similar to this but need more information to make an educated hypothesis.

Alright, there were a few TV models that could not be connected via HDMI however, you do not own one of them. If it not uncommon for HDMI cables to have issues but I do not believe this is the culprit either. It sounds as if the internal components have a memory fault. It appears that the HDMI setting that you have the receiver set to e.g. 1080i is getting mscommunicated or lost at the onset of the start up process. I never had the exact color pattern as you do but I have had the tv resolution and receiver display resolution in conflict and it displayed the exact same way. This was the first experience that I have had with a tv doing that when there was a conflict as most display regardless with only the resolution being effected. The only recourse if the problem persists is to have the receiver replaced in which case you would lose all of your DVR RECORDINGS unless you have a way to download them. Dish's newest HD Dual tuner receiver, the VIP 722 has a port that allows for additional storage space and has additional recording time of 300hrs of SD programming.

My 622 DVR dual (DISH ) receiver has lost 3 local channels in a row ( SAT 61.5) . Connecticut 7385,7386,7387 - (ch 20,24,26.) Other tv's/ HD box and old 310 box converters work fine. I have unplugged,...

Hello, my name is Daniel Busa with Dish Network customer service. Whats probably causing the issue would be that either you're not getting high enough signal strength on the 61.5 satellite. Otherwise there could be an issue with the box if you swap it with another reciever in the home, and the issue follws it you'll need a new box.

Receiver vip 622 problem with dvr

Hello marymlbert there are some things we can check to makesure the issue is resolved, the first thing you will need to do is unplug thereceiver power cord for 10 seconds and plug it back in. It will power back upby itself and then you will need to press Menu and push the buttons 6-1-1 onthe remote. You will then select the Check Switch button, and then select Test. After the test has run its full cycle exit out of all menus and then try toplay a recording and see if the issue is resolved.

My dish DVR HD control doesn't work

You have indicated that you have a 622 DVR receiver, since this is where your posting was found. When you trying any of the DVR functions on the remote, do you get an error message (024 or 311) indicating that the function is not available at this time? If not, try unplugging the receiver for 10 seconds from the electrical outlet. This will reboot the receiver and re-acquire the satellite signal. Once the picture returns, try the DVR function. If the problem continues, please call 1-800-333-3474; we may need to replace the receiver. I hope this helps.

If I don't have a cable or satellite television service how to install a VIP 622 DVR HD Antenna

Mount the dish on a pole or house using a mast perfectly plumb. Ensure it will give you an unobstructed view of the sky based on the information that should have come with the dish regarding your zip code for skew, elevation and azimuth settings. You will now need to run one line from the LNB on the end of the skew arm to your 622. Remember to use a seperater inside or you will need to run another line into the back of the receiver. Run a hardwire off back of the receiver's home distribution port to . Connect a line from 3-4 on back of the receiver to your TV 1. ....More to come if needed drop me another line.

I lose my audio often for non-hd channels with dish 622 dvr

The problem could lie in youir HDMI cable, this is a common issue. if you swap HDMI cables and still have the same problem then bypass your A/v rec and connect your 622 direct to your tv and see if the problem persists, it it does, then your DVR needs to be replaced, you can call dish for addition troubleshooting if it is in fact your DVR.

622 rebooting problem

This issue would have to be resolved in home, it is linked to a power issue and your voltage will need to be checked at the outlet your recvr is plugged into, HD DVR's need alot of constant power to operate poperly. the nes time you call about this issue the standard procedure is to send a tech to check voltage.

Dish VIP 622 constantly resetting

I suspect that there is either a problem with the LNB or the cable. Make sure you have not accidentally got a strand of the braid touching the inner core.

Maybe try a short length of pre-made cable with the LNB off the dish.
