Tcorbeau17 Have a GPX MW238P was working fine on USB until the Mode button was accidentally hit while playing a song from MP3 player through Puter. Now it only says MTP and Puter keeps saying new device and looking for a driver install. Puter is running on Win98SE. I tried your trick but it didn't work for me :( any ideas? Don't think there is a MTP driver for this OS, but there should be a way to switch MP3 player back to USB but so far nothing has worked. Don't want to have to run around and find someone with higher OS that will let me hook this up, get the MTP driver and USB driver then try and switch back. What a pain that would be....There's got to be an easier way right?? :)

You just plug your GPX into the computer and hold down the M button for a while. It should change back to UBS. It worked for me.

Actions Mtp Device 000001 only plays parts of songs

At the top of the screen on the right hand side beneath the battery symbol and the song number there will be either a star, a 1, or an a in a circle, if there is a star, touch the screen until it displays the a in a circle, then it will play all of the song. If it is a 1 it will only play one song over and over again

How do I download music on my mp3 player? I bought the mp3 player(gpxml638b) and it did not have any soft ware. I have the wire to plug from mp3 to computer, but how do I start downloading music?

Sir,

1. Turn on the MP3 Player by holding the PLAY/PAUSE button.
2. Take the USB Cord and plug the corresponding ends into the MP3 Player and a Computer.
3. When connected the LCD Display will either say “USB” or “MTP”.
4. Press the “M” (mode) button to switch between “USB” and “MTP” mode.
“MTP” mode will only work, when your player is connected to Microsoft
® Windows® XP and Windows® Media Player 10.
The MP3 Player will only work in “USB” mode when it is connected to Windows® 98SE, ME, or 2000 Professional.

1. Start Windows Media Player 9 and connect the MP3 Player to your computer.
2. Click “Copy to CD or Device”.
3. In the drop-down list, on the “Items to Copy” pane, click the play list, category, or other item that you want to copy.
4. Clear the check boxes next to any files you do not want to copy.
5. In the drop-down list, on the “Items to Copy” pane, click the device that you want to copy files to.
6. Click the ‘Copy’ button.
7. Repeat steps 2-5 for any other items that you want to copy to your unit.

1. Start Windows Media Player 10 and connect the unit to your computer. On your player’s display it should say ‘MTP’. If not, then while the unit is connected press the ‘M’ (mode) button to change from ‘USB’ to ‘MTP’ mode.
2. If you have not set up synchronization between your computer
and this device, the Device Setup Wizard starts. In the Device Setup Wizard, select Manual.
3. Click Finish.
4. Select Library option. On the right pane select Sync List.
5. From the left pane you can select the Play list or Library and you will see the content songs in the center pane.
6. Select the songs from the center pane, drag and add them to the Sync List.
7. Click the ‘Start Sync’ button in the Sync List pane.
8. Repeat steps 4-7 for any other items that you want to copy to your unit.

Thanks
Good Luck

How do you reformat the sansa E260?

There are several possibilities.

1) The songs that you loaded may not be compatible with the player - iTunes files, for instance.
2) The songs that you downloaded may not have transfer rights - i.e.: they will play fine on a computer, but they will not play on an mp3 player.

The solution to the above two possibilities would be to download songs that are in mp3 format only. They do not have strings, stipulations, headaches, etc. attached to them.

Possibility #3 is that your mp3 player is in the wrong USB Mode. Songs that show up in MSC mode do not show up in MTP mode, and vice versa. To change this, go into your Sansa player's settings menu and change the USB Mode.

on the top right of you mp3 there is a button that says M.
Try holding it then plugging it back into you computer.
O.K ill try to make this easy now, do that when its off because when it says mtp on mine i can put songs on it but idk why yours is not working so try what i said on top and good luck, because if it says usb that means you share stuff but when it says mtp that means you put on music.

Turn off the Mp3 off then plug it into the computer. If it doesn't work keep it on and try it that way.
