According to what I am seeing on microsoft.com forum pages, a removal of NET 2.0, then a reboot, might help your problem. Before re-installing NET 2.0 make sure the problem is not recurring. there were other instructions also but I will try to keep this simple for the time being.

I have wireless internet. The program is working well-I called Verizon and they confirmed it-but internet explorer will not let me get on the net. I have Microsoft Vista as an operating system.

One of the problems that I ran into with Verizon was the configuration of the router.
You will want to type in the router's IP address into the windows explorer bar.
From here you can configure your router.
A setting that the tech missed on my router was actually just a simple function that turned on the connectivity within my router.
So make sure that all settings are running correctly, and that all needed functions are turned on from within the router.

My sbc yahoo dsl installer has a crack can I install any other way.

Yes, you can. The setup I have seen most often uses what they call a "2Wire HomePortal".

Set the hardware up and make all the connections as instructed in the setup materials from SBC Yahoo (It's really quite simple: the phone line from the jack with the filter provided plugs in the phone line jack on the "Home Portal"--a simple router often called a DSL "modem"--and the ethernet cable into the other port on the "HomePortal" and into the RJ-45 jack on a computer)

Go to https://sbcreg.sbcglobal.net in the web browser of your choice. Note: it is an httpS address. The "s" is important.

If the web page comes up, simply follow the instructions on the page to establish an account.

If you don't get a registration page, try http://support.sbcglobal.net/register and follow the prompts.

NOTE: make sure the "HomePortal" router is easily acessible, because you will need its serial number duringh the process. The process MAY also establish a "temporary" login that you will have to replace with a permanent one.

My toshiba SatellitePro series 4200 backlight doesnt work

From my experiences, it is either the back light or the back light inverter. Both are easily found on the net and are a pretty reasonable price to get your laptop back in working order. The inverter is rather simple to install, the actual back light you will need minimal soldering experience.

Try http://www.lcdparts.net/ for the parts.

Net connection

do you get any error messages? Or do you just get disconnected often? If it is the second scenario, I recommend you contact your internet service providers. They may be in a better position to help.
