How can I buy a new antenna for model sony cfm-165tw

Many boombox antennas are attached by a small screw through the pivot point. This is usually a #1 Phillips screw. Some do not have a swiveling antenna; for these you have to remove the back of the case to get at the attachment screw. Keep the screw; it's guaranteed to fit when you attach the new antenna.

The hard part is finding a replacement. If you have the pivoting/swiveling antenna, the Radio Shack 28" Replacement Telescoping Antenna 270-1405 ($5.99 online) will probably work. You might even be able to use it for a non-pivoting antenna that telescopes into the inside of the case.

Grounding uhf antenna

First off, using a Ground post driven into the soil is important. The best ground post procedure is to SLANT a 6 or 8 foot rod into the soil at an angle (not directly down). The angle allows for a greater ground surface and is more effective. If a Ground rod is cut off because it cannot be driven deep into the soil; this defeats the need to ground electronic or other devices.
12G wire is OK for an antenna if 8 or 10 are not available. Copper is best, but aluminum will work. The Grounding bock is attached to the mast, usually near where the antenna if affixed to the mast. Simply drill a small hole into the Mast section using the block as your guide. Using a hex driver and small hex screws, tighten the block to the mast. Good contact is necessary, so tighten all attachments. I suggest getting Rubber Boots or Covers to protect the connectors on the block from corrosion. The reason I attach blocks to the mast is to ground the Mast first and Antenna second. Not a critical feature. You may also use petro-jelly to cover the nuts, bolts, and screws to prevent corrosion or binding.

Hi this problem could happen when:
1-your antenna is not attached correctly because your phone crashed or dropped
2- Your antenna switch IC has problem (because dropped or dust or COLD SOLDERING)
3-your matching circuit after the antenna(1 inductance 1 capacitor) cutting off
4- your PA (power amplifier) IC has problem
5-your RF circuit totally is gone

Network adapter hp6505f

If your computer has a wireless network adapter, Windows will automatically detect wireless networks in range of your computer. You can see a list of wireless networks that Windows has detected in Connect to a Network.

  • Open Connect to a Network by clicking the network icon (eff2d36c-9e0d-4d1a-9859-3af14fa4ccfc_73.jpg or da12251d-1e9a-4032-afae-009876c6c5a3_80.jpg) in the notification area.

If Windows doesn't detect a network that you think is in range of your computer, it could be because of one of the following reasons:

  • The wireless switch on your computer is turned off.

Many laptops have a wireless switch on the front or side of the computer. If your computer has a switch, make sure it's turned on. Some computers also use a function key combination to turn the switch on or off. Check the information that came with your computer for details on locating the wireless switch.

  • Your computer is too far from the wireless router or access point.

Move your computer closer to the router or access point. If the computer is portable, try moving it around to determine the range of the wireless signal and the best place to use the computer.

If you can't get closer to the router or access point, consider buying and installing an external antenna for your wireless network adapter. Many wireless network adapters are set up so that you can attach an external antenna to them, which provides better reception than a built-in antenna. Check the information that came with your wireless network adapter to see if you can install an additional antenna.

  • The wireless router or access point is turned off or isn't working properly.

There are two things to try:

    • Make sure the router or access point is turned on and that the wireless signal light is illuminated.

    • Reset the router or access point by unplugging it, waiting at least 10 seconds, and then plugging it back in.

Please refer to the following article:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r6556655-troubleshooting_laptop_wifi_connectivity

If you have tested the possibilities outlined in this article & made sure none is the root cause of the problem, then 2 more things to do here:
1. Try uninstalling the WiFi adapter drivers, reboot the computer, then re-install them again.
2. If this does not work, then you might have a defective antenna. You can replace it, but you will have to disassemble the LCD screen panel, plus you will have to remove the cover on the bottom of the laptop in order to disconnect the 2 thin wires attaching the antenna to the WiFi adapter board. You will also need to remove the laptop's keyboard in order to be able to remove the 2 thin wires connecting the antenna to the WiFi adapter, & then laying the new wires attached to the replacement antenna.

You can go with any G or higher series adaptor with an antenna, I have brought a very cheap usb wireless network adaptor without anteena and modified it by attaching a reflector and antenna which has drastically improved the signal gain and range.

Distance from TX to RX possible too great

There are a couple more questions
  1. Is it a removable antenna on the wireless router e.g. 5db or 7db gain. you could just get better antennas to increase signal strength for distance.
  2. E-bay has a linear antenna you assemble with a usb wireless network adapter attached.
