You need to get a copy of either DOSBox or VirtualBox to help you play older games on your newer system. You can download them and learn about them from the links below.

I have lighthouse/darkbeing 1996 and it will not install on my computer I have windows7 on mty laptop

This is an old program (DOS/Windows 3). It will not be compatible with a Windows 7 computer. (If you have the 64-bit version, you probably will have even more compatibility issues.)

Try using the program DOSbox, a DOS emulator: . Download the Windows version (it will work under Win7 x64 and 32-bit). Install the program then see if you can install the game. If that doesn't work, you will need a program that can make a .iso (image) of the CD. A possible option is MagicISO Maker: . Save the iso to your hard disc and then mount the image in DOSbox . This is a two-step process much like in UNIX. You will need to mount the hard drive and then mount the image. The commands would look like: mount c "c:\images"
imgmount d "C:\Lighthouse.iso" -t iso
Then go to the D drive and run the game as you did when you played on your previous computer.

I hope this helps.

Constructor does not want to run on my windows 7

It's a very old piece of software. If you have windows 7 professional or ultimate you can install virtual XP which will allow you to install older DOS programs.

If you have an extra copy of Windows XP or lower you can install that next to your copy of Windows 7.

Alternatively you can install Oracle Virtual Machine that lets you run a virtual machine inside of yours which could be Windows 98 which would be much better suited for installing that.

Hello Reagan,

In DOSbox you are able to map / mount a local drive from the gues DOSBox software to the windows host machine so that DOSbox can see it. I do this all the time - I have a drive on my windows machine C:\oldgames - and I issue the command

Interactive Magic Apache Windows 95 program disk does not load into HP Pavilion - Light Strobe DVD/CD Burner. I have Windows Vista. Can it be done?

You must use Dosbox, get it at Follow instructions and you will be able to play most old dos games. I started playing Apache 95, the game before the one you're trying to load and it plays just fine with graphics, etc... I love that game and when computer technology got better my old dos games fell by the wayside until I found dosbox.
