Is the audio driver working and enabled? (go to Control Panel - System - Hardware tab - Device Manager - click on Sound, video game controller to check) If it has a yellow ? against the audio driver then re-install the audio driver.
If the audio driver is working and enabled, then check if the Mute button in the volume controll has not been selected and also check it the volume level has not been set too low.

The same model ThinkPad can have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless you know exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download all the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver.
When you download the drivers, write down the device driver and it’s file name so you have a record of which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files are located on your hard drive.
Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.w...

NAD WIRELESS USB DAC 1 KILLS WIFI CONNECTION

The NAD wireless using the 2.4Ghz frequency which is also used for WIFI.

Your option would be to change the channel of your WIFI to see if you can reduce the interference.

Your best option is to use 5Ghz for your WIFI (this requires that your Wireless router and Laptop support 5Ghz).

You can check first the device manager just type it in the start search. There is possibility that the audio driver is gone. Try this link: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=LAT_PNT_PM_D610&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid= Try to restart the laptop. How to activate wifi for ibm laptop thinkpad T40 type 2373. is it in-built wifi? Do i have to press any button or automatically captures wifi signalonce in wifi zone?

Your T40 may not have a built-in wireless card.
There is no button to activate the wireless card. If there is a wireless card and the wireless card driver has been installed, then the wireless icon will be displayed on the Task bar.
Check Device Manager and look for the wireless network device, if it has a yellow ? against it then the driver needs to be installed. If no wireless network device is displayed then there is no wireless card installed.

The same model ThinkPadcan have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless youknow exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download allthe drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download thedrivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a recordof which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files arelocated on your hard drive. Audio problems.

If this is an RF transmitter working within the WiFi range that might be your problem. First find out what channel you adapter is broadcasting on. Do this by logging into it. Then on your PC get a program called Netstumbler, and load it on your pc then turn on the program it will go out and find all of the access points around your area. It will also list the channels they are on. There are 14 channels but only three can be used channel 1 channel 6 and channel 11 find the channel that is least used and set you adapter to it. This should work. Let me know if this helps. Thank you, Shuttle83
