It sounds like someone spilled pop or other sticky stuff on the mouse. Its pretty easy to clean. Should be a couple of screws on the bottom. Take them out and carefully remove the plastic pieces. As long as you go slow are remember how it all fits together you will be just fine. There are a couple of small pieces that will fall out (if its an older mouse) so just be cautious. Use some rubbing alcohol and q-tips to clean around where the buttons press down and where the wheel rotates. Then put back together and it should work fine. Remember to do all this with it unplugged.

Good Luck

There are number of reasons and solutions why your mouse isn't working properly. No.1. Resynchronize your mouse to the Pc. It's best to use the reset button for resynchronization. No. 2. Change the Port (Usb port). Sometimes even the small problem with the port created this problem. No.3. Replace the battery. If you are sure about the battery is Live, you can try with another make eg. Sony to Everydy. No.4. Interfaces Problem. Make sure that no electronic items, metal box, Speaker, etc doesn't obstruct the connection. No.5. Driver Update. Update the driver to the latest version. You must update from the particular website. If you are using Microsoft product, you must update the driver from the Microsoft's website. No.6. Different System. Try out the device on several devices not only one. Have new logitech wireless mouse i can not scroll down whit wheel

Hello there:
If you remove the battery cover you will see 2 small phillips head screws remove them and this will allow the part that goes around the wheel to be removed now make sure that there is no lint or dust build up around the wheel assembly canned air works great for cleaning these out then reassemble the cover and test
Now if it still doesent work than you can assume that the controle sensor for the wheel is bad in this case if you still have the warranty i would take the mouse back and exchange it for a new one
To have this repaired would cost more than what the mouse is worth ok
I hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael
