I need more infor about your unit, but it sounds like when the cool goes off, the indoor fan continues to run. This would not be hot air, just room temperature air. Check it. If the air is actually hot, either the heat in the unit is also on and you have a heat gain from an outside source.

AC has a New AC Compressor, plenty of Freon -it works but, only Hot Air blows through the vents ??? Is this the vaccum hose or the Heater Control Valve?

Check the heater control valve. And verify if there's hot air w/o A/C (fresh air with heat setting to cold)

Cadillac seville w/ 4.6 motor; air conditioning codes kick on when hot.

as I have not seen this problem as you described I have worked on a caddy ac unit before that worked for little while and shut off replaced a few parts but when all was said and done tunrs out it had a small hole in condenser in front of car grille and some of freon leaked out even the new stuff I added

that's why it worked for a while as it took several days for freon to leak out could not have found leak if not for a freon detector I had borrowed from a friend it was that small ! dye did not work

A/c stopped working. Only blows hot air. Any sugestions. Was working great and suddenly stopped.

there is usually a switch to turn the compressor on. Have you also checked for freon leaks?

Same thing happened on my '87 acura and I had an extended warranty (guess what it wasn't covered).

Good luck.

Air conditioning isn't cooling at red lights.

Sounds like it is low on freon. I'd throw another can in itif pressure is down.

Ac quits while stopped at a stop light

You do have a AC problem. Your AC doesn't like what is going on and shuts down to protect itself. The front AC fan may not be running and cooling at idle and the higher hot freon pressure causes the pressure sensor to shut the compressor down. When driving you have plenty of air over the condenser. So check it out.

My 99 ford f-150 blows only hot air.

The A/C system has a pressure switch will keep the A/C from running if the freon is low. It prevents damage to the A/C compressor from low freon.
My bet is you'll need to recharge the A/C system.

My ac turns on but it only throws hot air it used to throw it cold a few days ago, whats the problem?

Adding a can of freon is not the solution, a system that has too much freon will not work right and there is a chance that you will damage the compressor.
There are low pressure and high pressure switches at work when the system is operating.
You might have a bad switch, leaves or other matter blocking the front condenssor.
Is the system actually full?
It's best to give this problem to a certified A/C mechanic.

AC WON'T COOL

Sounds like you have a freon leak or your compressor has stopped working. You will probably need a service tech. If it is out of freon, don't let them just add more freon, make them find and repair the leak first. Good Luck.
