Could be many things. Could be something jammed in the impeller (not likely) If motor has been off for some time the bearings could be seized, and a little spin might free it up. Could be the bearings are bad. Could be the start capacitor is bad, keeping the motor from having enough torque to start. Could be the motor windings are shorted and the motor would then have to be replaced.

My spa hums for a few seconds then kicks off. No flow. lights and control display are working.

Is the shut off occuring @ the GFI? & is there an error code displayed on your topside?

If the breaker is kicking off, the best way to troubleshoot is to disconnect all components, (pumps, heater, circ, etc.) & then plug one in & turn the breaker on. repeat the process until you locate which component is tripping the breaker.. then you know whats causing the trouble

My motor for the usq1202 comes on and humms loudly, does not come on and then tripps the breaker. Is there a solution or do I need a new motor?

Could be a start capacitor, Ether in the back of the motor, about the size of a "D" cell battery, black with two or three wires coming from it. Or a little bigger in a case right on top of the motor.
With the power off remove this and go to get a new one at a pool store or a motor store. Take the old one with you as you will need to match it up to the new one.
It stores power to get the motor spinning. Otherwise the motor pulls to much power and kicks the breaker.

A. O. Smith 1 1/2 hp. motor Type SP. Humms then

You have a failing start/run capacitor. Take the motor to your pool supply place for repair.

Pump is making humming noise but not turning on. This happened after a breaker blu. I reset breaker and this is what happened.

This may just be the start celonide. Look's like a "D" battery or bigger in the back of the motor or on the top in a half round case. It is ment to boost the power to start the motor turning. If it bad the motor just humms till the breaker blows. Sounds like just what you have.

The motor on my delta 10" table saw starts a low rpm and does not go into high rpm - after a a few seconds it fails the circuit breaker, and without the belt conected this does not happen. Is the motor...

This saw tends to have a problem where the belt rides "outside" the V-grove. Check that the belt is actually installed into the V-grove, and that the grove is in line. Mine was installed (at the factory) with the shiv back to front, so the belt would catch, and kick out. Maybe the same issue.

When I turn on the jets at the first setting it brrrr's but does not start. The second setting works fine and when the second cycle is finished the first continues fine. It is just when it first started...

Sounds like you may have a bad start capacitor that is not kicking the motor when it's set to run the low speed. If it just humms, it's usually a capacitor. It can also be the bearings but if it runs quietly normally, then it's probably a start capacitor. Hope this helps.

My motor just humms and will not turn. Pump turns freely and motor shaft? Humms for a will then will kick out, but does not throw the breaker. thanks, David

I'd replace the start capacitor on this pump, I believe. Be careful with this kind of electrical device: they store power and will kick you and hard if not wairy,

I have a Powermatic 66 that trips breaker

Either it has a problem with a blade brake or the motor is siezing. Or the is a wiring problem. With the unit unplugged check and see if you can turn the blade by hand, if not the motor is the problem. If it does you could still have a motor problem by it drawing to much amperage or the is a wiring problem.

Did you change the capacitor on the fan motor. Could be bad if not bad fan motor. But sounds like a cap. Russ
