  • When you pwer up the computer press F1 or f2 or del or ALT +F2 key if you able to see bios screen then your motherboard is working fine .
Then you need to check that harddrive is recgnized in bios or not.
But if you are not able to see any display then change the RAM memory and reconnect the processor then if still same issue then your motherboard need repairing .

You beep codes indicate that your memory (Ram) and Bios Chip are having problem.

First of all, disconnect the power cables, ide/sata, fans, etc.. (disconnect everything which are connected to the motherboard -internal/external) and remove the bios battery, wait for few minutes (5 mins) and again reinstall it. Now reconnect everything, power on and check the status. Same condition?

Then, re-seat the Ram, and if there's no positive effect replace it and try booting it again. In case there's no changes, you need to check the Bios Rom Chip. If you don't know how to remove it, please don't do it, you may damage the chip or the board. You need to call a technician to replace it or to re-seat it.
If replacing the Bios Rom Chip isn't helpful, then your only option is to replace the motherboard.

I could only wish you good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Hello the homepage is here:

3 short beeps: base 64 k ram failure.

If you've recently added or tried to add additional memory to the computer and have started getting these beeps. Remove all new memory you've added to the computer. If the computer works fine after removing the new memory you're encountering either an incompatibility or defective new memory.

The fault could also be: power supply, or bad capacitors on the mainboard.

Good luck

Hi, just swaped out a harddrive now my Mainboard *4 core Duel Sata2* does a single beep, pause then rapid beeps. can you help

Please count the number of rapid beeps. 3 short beeps is a memory error. 8 short beeps is a display memory error. 9 short beeps is a ROM Bios checksum error and 10 beeps is a CMOS shut down read/write error.

The solution will depend on the error. For a memory error, remove all of the memory sticks then reinsert each one separately and reboot the computer. If the board continues to beep 3 times, that stick is bad or the memory slot has failed.

The complete beep code list is provided here: http://www.asrock.com/support/qa/TSDQA-01.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I wish to know if DDR2 RAM can be used on the motherboard. The vendor has supplied me with one DDR1 RAM 512MB DDR400 CL2.5. I am having 2 pieces DDR1 RAM from my old machine 128MB EACH. I wish to know if...

No you cannot use it .... *********** board will not support DDR2.... but if have the slot for both DDR1 then you can use DDR1.. but i will suggest you to use Ram for same memory .. But you can use 521 & 128 together , no problem.
thanks for rating Good luck

If you hear just one short beep on the onboard speaker it means that everything is fine. You should download the drivers for the onboard sound from Asrock website.

According to the specs of your board you should need a AC97 HD driver.

Post your results, especially if this doesn't resolve your issue...

No boot and beeps

The exact fault code indicates RAM or a problem accessing the RAM.
Check that you are using recommended/Approved RAM as ASUS and ASROCK (the budget arm of ASUS) are notoriously fussy with RAM.
If it all checks out then your northbridge could be dead and it will probably be scrap.
