Welcome to FixYa
Dear Sir,
Only compatible SIM cards from a supported Carrier may be used to activate iPhone.
Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit supported Carrier’s store
to receive a replacement SIM card.

If you bought your iPhone from overseas (US, UK, AU, etc) and you’re not living in the country where the iPhone originally come from, this problem may appear. In example: You bought the iPhone from eBay, or one of family member outside your country give it to you as present/gift or you bought BlackMarket phone for cheap price. This could be happen due to network lock or error from iPhone itself, in some cases. Due to network lock restriction.....
Solution:- Jailbreaking is a process that allows iPhone and iPod Touch users to run unofficial code on their devices bypassing Apple’s official distribution mechanism, the App Store.
How to Jailbreak Click here
If the error still occurs even though your iPhone is jailbroken and unlocked, you may try these tips:
- If your iPhone software was update accidentally, try to put iPhone into DFU mode,restore/update your iPhone software/firmware/OS with shift and restore method, then re-jailbreak it.

Still have Problem you may need to UNLOCK phone again or Contact Nearest Professional Technician...
Let me know Result...Hope you got an idea...Thanks for Contacting FixYa...

If you bought your iPhone from someone instead of an official reseller such as Apple Stores and Apple's partners around the world, this could mean that your iPhone was unlocked through a jailbreak and once you upgrade the firmware you lost your jailbreak and your unlock. This means you'll have to jailbreak and apply an unlock so you can use your SIM card. I suggest you take a look at blog.iphone-dev.org and iclarified.com and look for tutorials on iPhone.

do as it says you need a valid SIM to restore an iphone and it is possible to have a SIM go bad. There is nothing that can be done until your sim is infact working and valid and it MUST be an AT&T sim no other sim will work for restore.

Iphone 3h no service

Go into your setting<General<Reset<Reset Network Settings   This should fix your problem if it does not then maybe your service provider is to blame, if not just faulty iPhone hardware. In that case you can take your phone into a Apple retail store with an appointment and get it swapped for  a new one.  ( as long as you are within your hardware warranty)

Cannot import contact from sim card to iphone 3G

Turn off the iPhone before inserting the sim, insert sim, turn on, import contacts. If you put the sim in the phone without restarting it for some reason it doesn't get all the contacts sometimes.
