What kind of gauge do you use to check your air con gas

You may have run of refrigerant gas. Kindly check that

gas is put in according to pressure and suction readings on a combination gauge
it is not a diy job

Could be for the air con but not temp gauge . Having it checked for DTC's diagnostic trouble code's is first thing that should be done . Don't know how much you know about the electronic's on your vehicle , Control modules , serial data communication networks an the like . An 07 G6 , Pontiac ? The Temp. gauge gets it's info from the engine computer (PCM) via GMLAN serial data bus . Plus when you push the A/C button , this is an input to the BCM - body control module ,which sends a message on the data bus to the PCM - engine computer , which in turn will energize the compressor clutch relay ,turning on the A/C .So you see the complexity of the vehicle . GM has had problems with step motors in the instrument clusters . These step motors are what control the needles in the gauges . That doesn't mean run out an buy a new instrument cluster . Your best bet is take it to a GM dealer , Chevy , Cadillac , Buick . They have a factory scan tool that can simplyfi diagnoses rather then just replacing parts .

Although my first impluse is to tell you to do is to drop the tank and check the fuel pump and level. All GMs have had a terrible record with their instrument panels for 2002-2006, so think back and try to remember if you have any other malfunctions with the instrument cluster. If you have, then I would look on the internet and find the places that have made a specialty of rebuilding GMs instrument clusters and have them rebuild it completely.

You should have your a/c system ck'd. Reason could be excessive system pressure and temp. This would explain the a/c safety turning off the a/c and the temp rise of the engine cooling system. Good Luck.

Check pressure of air con fluid. Sounds like it needs refilling.
Most good car centres sell the gas in a can - with a pressure gauge.
Try this first as it's the cheapest option to start.

Hi, the problem your having could be something simple like needs the air con gas topping up this needs to be done at a garage.
If the gas level is ok then the aircon belt needs checking making sure it has not come off.
If both of these are ok then the problem could lie with the aircon pump itself this can be replaced but at a cost.
So get the gas checked and the belt the drive the air con pully.

sounds like the air-con gas is low switch on air-con a nd check to see if the compressor clutch is pulling in if not reove h/p dust cap on the aircon pipe press schroder valve to see if gas escapes if not will need re-gassing even if you get gas out without a pressure gauge it is hard to tell if the right anount of gas is in the system.

Hi, All air-con systems have stardard size air-con pipe connections.1 small 1large so you can`t connect to the wrong side,the connector usually has a ring you have to pull back to then push onto the pipe connection that when connected keeps the connection tight ,to disconnect it is the reverse of fitting BE carefully and do not connect or disconnect with engine running wear goggles and gloves and do not breath any escaped gas,if your not confident give it to an expert !!.

I had this problem before. There could be several reason.

1-Your air conditionner filter could be soo old and dirty, that you don"t get that good air condition.

2-Your air cond compressor could be giving low pression and so, no cool air.

3- You could be having a leak somewhere and so you're loosing gaz after it's filled.

4- Check also the fuse box. Seee if the AC fuse is not burnt.
